Wa'mara Dijom

Wa'mara Dijom is a Bajoran. He is a former Starfleet Command Officer and cabinet member of the government of the United Federation of Planets.

Starfleet

Wa'mara Dijom lived the life of a merchant on Bajor when he was invited to visit a Federation Starship that was commanded by his future wifes father, then Captain Ryan Williams. The experience changed Dijom who immediately took his savings and went to Earth to join Starfleet. He was posted to the USS Pacifica then under the command of Captain Matthew Lugar. Dijom was a promising young officer and he quickly rose through the ranks on the ship. The next year he had achieved the position of Second Officer under Captain Lugar on the USS Ticonderoga. Several weeks later he was made Acting-XO when the previous XO left the ship. Within a few months this was made official.

Everything changed for Dijom when the GTI invaded for the second time. A Starfleet reshuffle saw his promotion to Commander and his first command, the USS Saratoga a galaxy class vessel. This vessel was the testbed for a special new weapon for the fight against the GTI. Within several weeks the need to reshuffle the fleet again to better fight the GTI and Dijom was made XO of the 3rd Fleet based on Deep Space 9. A further month later Dijom was promoted to Captain and given command of the 5th Fleet based on a Starbase located near the Romulan border. Throughout the next few months after the defeat of the GTI and the cleanup, Dijom was placed in command of several other ships including the USS Relentless which was destroyed during a skirmish with the Borg Collective in Klingon Empire space and the USS Pacifica.

High Command

After the devastation that was visited on his homeworld of Bajor, Dijom needed some time out so he resigned his commission to look after his young family. With home life stabilised, Dijom returned to Starfleet within a year and was recommissioned at the rank of Lieutenant Commander. His earlier work saw him given the difficult job of running Starfleet Intelligence and then with a promotion back to Captain, the extreme responsibility of running Starfleet Academy. In time he was promoted to Commodore and the position of Chief of Starfleet Science & Exploration and eventually Secretary of Starfleet.

Starfleet Awards

Dijom earned several awards during his time in Starfleet. These include the Silver Star, Bronze Star, Purple Heart, Distinguished Service Award, Extended Service Award and Interstellar Service Award.

Post Starfleet

Dijom returned to Bajor with his wife and two adopted children and has spent the past few years in peace.
