USS Avanguard

USS Avanguard, NCC-34449, is a Federation Excelsior-class cruiser. She has no motto.

She was launched Stardate 81726.6, from San Fransico Fleet Yards, the first prototype of the redesigned Excelsior class.

Deployment History

USS Avanguard was used in several live-fire excercises by Commodore Luke Zitto to test the capabilities of the new Excelsior redesign. Having passed the initial examinations it was sent Delta Quadrant, first berthing with a Klingon base assisting in the campaign against the Borg and Hirogen. USS Avanguard was than sent to Epsilon 611 continuing it's fight against the Hirogen. She returned to her home post of Starbase 001 December 26th, 2404. USS Avanguard was the lead Starfleet vessel assigned to the Anti-pirate fleet.

In July and August 2405, USS Avanguard was deployed as a part of a joint allied fleet involved in the successful liberation of Iure Prime. She saw action in numerous sorties, including the final push to remove the Kzinti-Gorn fleet from orbit.
