Daon Tujin Nightraine, Galactic Ferengal Alliance
Contents |
There is a humanoid male here, looking about 26. His head is covered in matted, shaggy light brown hair. Obviously uncared for in several months. He has a full beard, covering his lower face completely. His eyes are two deep blue orbs, which have an intense look about them. He has a well-built frame, fairly muscular. His height is fairly average, around 5 foot 11, or so. By Human standards, he is fairly attractive. At least, he considers himself to be. There is a faded scar beginning in the palm of his left hand, which runs back, until it reaches his elbow. Along the opposite arm, in the same place, is a tattoo of a Dragon. There is a translucent sparkling ring on the middle finger of his right hand.
Tujin Nightraine grew up in the city of Virginia Beach, on the eastern coast of the North American continent on Earth. His performance in high school wasn't the best, though he often dreamed of becoming a weapons officer aboard a large, powerful Starfleet vessel. His history of misbehavior in school, combined with his low marks, made direct admission to the Academy impossible. For a few years he worked as a bouncer at a nightclub, putting his superior build to good use. One day, he found himself inside a Starfleet recruiter's office. His dreams of firing the weapons of a mighty vessel returned to him, and he enlisted, hoping to earn admission to the Academy.
Tujin reported to his first ship with a great deal of ambition. She was an Intrepid-class cruiser. He was taught by the others onboard in the fields of security, tactical, and navigation. He earned a great many qualifications in the short time he was aboard. He served during the first GTI war, his vessel nearly being lost in the final battle at Sherman's Planet. He served as part of the security detail for the execution of Talia Dare. It was shortly thereafter that he began to become disillusioned with Starfleet. Seeing less deserving individuals recieve recognition and promotions really struck a deep nerve, and he began seeking other options. When his commanding officer caught wind of this, Tujin recieved disciplinary action, and was restricted from leaving the ship. In a hasty decision, he exited the ship, and hopped a transport to Fenalgar, where he had arranged for employment.
He began renting a Freighter from Hovmempo'wI' and his associate Nicholas. He made a small amount of money for himself, running various trade routes. He had to avoid Federation space, however, as he was undoubtedly wanted for going AWOL, and for still posessing his Starfleet security items. He decided to return the forcefield belt and rifle he kept when he left his vessel. Upon surrendering the weapon, he was arrested. He was held without trial for several weeks, before being dishonorably discharged, and fined. Left with nothing, he hopped a public transport back to Fenalgar again, to ask for a loan to begin trading again. It wasn't long before he had made a decent amount of latinum for himself, even paying off his original loan plus interest. He saved up his latinum for several months, eventually earning enough to purchase a Dirk class frigate for himself.
He hired a crew for his new frigate, starting a small mercenary force for hire. Among his crew was a good friend, Robert Weiss. They made small jobs here and there, assisting with an occasional small conflict. Eventually, however, the vessel was destroyed by a Borg Cube, in defense of a Federation planet, while Starfleet vessels stood by and watched. Infuriated, Tujin renounced his citizenship, and officially became a member of the Galactic Ferengal Alliance
Being close to broke again, he decided to give something different a try. He joined the Ferengi Naval Force, serving under it's commander, Sariu'kilta. He did several tours, serving in many capacities in the diminshing fleet. He did a great many patrols, earning the trust of Sariu'kilta. He was promoted to Proxy of the FNF. The Grand Nagus assigned Tujin and Sariu'Kilta to recover a Dominion Mal Havok-class destroyer. It had been leased to the Ferengi under strict contract, and the former Grand Nagus, Xordoc, sold it to a Federation citizen. "Remy" Valentine was a dangerous man, leader of the Red Cell mercenary group. Diplomatic attempts were made, and Valentine refused to give up his prized Jem'hadar destroyer. More hostile attempts were made, resulting in the capture of Tujin andSariu'kilta. They executed Sariu'kilta, and beat Tujin senseless, dropping him off on a remote world. Enraged at the loss of his friend, he devised a plan to recover the vessel. Going undercover as a Ferengi, he made his way to Mars, where the vessel was parked. Under the guise of trading, he dropped off wares on the planet, taking up a full load to leave with. He locked transporters on the inactive vessel, where the crew was sleeping, and took them prisoner. He rapidly made his way back to Ferengi space. Valentine was executed by Tujin and a member of Sariu'kilta's family. The rest of the crew were returned to Earth, and after heated negotiations, the vessel itself was towed to Ferengi space, before being returned to the Dominion. Tujin took over the FNF, however, governmental reforms were in progress, and it was soon done away with. Still, Tujin had made quite a name for himself, earning the respect and latinum of many Ferengi.
Shortly after the FNF was dissolved, the GFA held elections for Daonship of all planets (with the exception of Nausicaa) in the Alliance. Tujin ran for Daon of Llystad. He was elected, and began making changes. It was here that he founded Nightraine Industries, after acquiring the industrial assets of the late former Daon. The planet was still in recovery from when the Aurellan Holy Assembly obliterated the planet, having a largely agricultural economy. Tujin began bringing in heavy mining equipment, taking advantage of the deep cracks into the crust made by the Aurellan weapon. Large, uninhabited swaths of the planet became heavy industrial tracts. He turned the planet around, turning it back into a powerful economic entity.
During that time, the Breen Confederacy had been making aggressive movements towards the Ferengi, resulting in more than one skirmish. During one such incident, Daon Nightraine attempted to chase down a Breen destroyer, along with a few Lathandar escorts. They chased the Breen vessel through the Bajoran Wormhole from Golgafrincham XI to Bajor. Upon exitting at the Bajor terminus, an Aurellan destroyer emerged behind his Vortac class destroyer. The Aurellan vessel, the HCV Rage of Angels, loudly proclaimed over subspace "NO MORE WARNINGS", then quickly disabled the destroyer. Tujin and the crew barely managed to make it to the escape pods, before the Aurellan vessel destroyed the Vortac. The Breen recovered Tujin's escape pod, carrying him back to one of their starbases. They entertained themselves by torturing him, depressurizing his cell slightly to cause intense discomfort, and trying to force him to mate with a chicken. They didn't keep him long, however, seeing a great bounty by Starfleet on his head. He made an arrangement with his captors, whereby they would turn him over at DS9, armed with one of their CRM-114s. As soon as the Breen recieved their bounty, Tujin was released, and quickly commandeered an Aeon Flux. He took off, making all haste towards Ferengi space. Starfleet deployed 6 vessels and 9 fighters in an attempt to capture him before he reached Ferengi space. However, Tujin's superior evasionary skills allowed him to escape back to Honest Broker.
After that event, Tujin had a favorable view of the Breen Confederacy, even making a few contacts. Diplomatic strides were made, and an alliance between the GFA, the Breen, and the Sherman's Planet Colony was formed. Called the Syndicate, they agreed to defend eachother, and share technology. For reasons which are lost to history, there was a major battle at Cardassia Prime. Several Syndicate vessels were present, however the Federation and their new allies, the Zhrakhadi were there to assist the Cardassians. After the destruction of the GFA's flagship, the Syndicate fleet retreated. Tujin was in command of a Vortac-class destroyer, marked as an undesignated Nausicaan vessel. The USS Cochrane chased down the small destroyer, engaging it in combat. Tujin made for the nearest planet, a Breen world, Dozaria. The Cochrane followed the vessel to the surface, where Tujin beamed the entire crew of the Cochrane into containment. They shut the destroyer down, and beamed over to the Cochrane, making off with it. The vessel was taken to Ferengi space, and then into deep space, where it was stripped and painted pink. The GFA government officially blamed it on Nausicaan pirates, however, internally, they knew who had captured the vessel, and made them eventually return it. To this day, Tujin retains the original plaque of the vessel.
Tujin did not play a major role in the second GTI war. He and his vessels provided assistance where possible, but for the most part, the GFA was trying to stabilize reform movements internally. There were numerous battles he participated in that don't deserve mention. However, he was involved in the retaking of ch'Rihan from Tyrixx. He managed to drag a Tyrixx body out of the hive before it was destroyed, carrying it back with him to Llystad. He was involved in battles at Sherman's Planet, Deep Space Nine, and Golgafrincham XI.
Shortly after the destruction of the GTI forces in our dimension, Tujin, Malkien, and several key others formed a terrorist group known as the Symposium. Tired of Starfleet's politics, acting as a galactic police, they decided to try and make a statement. They were fairly successful, as Starfleet policies changed after their dissolution. They had several vessels in their arsenal, including Longsword-class destroyers, Excalibur-class cruisers, and an Ael'sienae-class destroyer. They operated out of a hidden starbase in deep space, called Morningstar. They had an impressive battle record, destroying countless Starfleet vessels, often outclassing the Symposium vessel significantly. Tujin could be considered the second in command of the Symposium, though their rank system was never clearly defined. After the Symposium's demise, Tujin refocused his efforts on expanding Nightraine Industries, which made very impressive profits during the second GTI war.
Nightraine Industries had begun dabbling in genetic engineering, however, it was decades away from being able to even view the full Tyrixx genome. Tujin decided to ally with Nagus Nox Jek, who had an impressive facility underground on Artificer. During this time, Nightraine Industries began spreading to more worlds, beginning to produce consumer goods as well as industrial supplies. One of the top suppliers of starbase and starship components in the galaxy made it a fairly easy job, as those parts were in very high demand in the post-war economy. It was during this time that Tujin built a large majority of his wealth, which would one day secure his position on the Conclave.
With a great many changes in the political environment of the Alliance, FCA Director Mordoc, the newly appointed Grand Nagus Nox Jek, and Tujin came together, and reimplemented the Conclave of Daons, with a major overhaul. He became the only Daon in the Alliance. He now controlled 33% of the Galactic Ferengal Alliance. Nox and Tujin contracted the Pryans to construct them a Privateer-class destroyer. Initially named the SS Phantom, they contracted work with various groups, notably including the Romulans during a Starfleet-Romulan war. Later, the vessel was renamed the FAV 125th Rule, as it remains to this day.
Tujin volunteered to be a test subject for an experimental procedure to greatly enhance the human body. After spending a week in the labs of Artificier II, he emerged, greatly enhanced. Speed, reflexes, strength, everything was enhanced. Eventually his enhancements came to light, and there was a great deal of pressure from Starfleet to dismantle the labs on Artificier II, as well as Mordoc's labs on Chemarra. After Starfleet and The Unity bombed Chemarra, Nox and Tujin quickly dismantled the labs on Artificier II. His enhancements remained for some time, until they were eventually removed at his abandoned labs on Llystad.
