Command School Program

Overview: The program is divided into three seperate phases, each of which focuses on the different levels of management up to the "Fleet Command" level. Each phase continues to build upon itself, introducing further advanced principles and concepts to the material learned in the previous phases.

Assignment Overview

To facilitate Command School Officers with a variety of "hands on" experience, Command School Officers will receive command access on on select vessels to practice and hone the skills they learn in the classroom. One of the most important aspects of the program is the ability of the student to augment the lecture knowledge with real time experience in the field. *** Details to be discussed in the near future ***.

Students can expect to constantly be in some sort of command role during missions and assignments, their leadership ability being tested constantly.

Overview: The following outline shows some of the tentative topics/assignments and foundations we are looking to establish at each level. Some of the topics are subject to change, but provide a good look into what will be seen at each level.

Level 1 Command - Department Head

Outline:

Training Portion:

- Conduct a logged training session with another starfleet officer

- Write a brief lecture on a departmental topic

- Conduct a brief seminar on a departmental topic (preferably linked with the lecture you wrote)


Roleplay Portion:

- Operate and run a social event that brings others together either on board or fleet-wide (if approved)

- Conduct a departmental "on-duty" session (logged)

- Write a brief description of a good and bad roleplay pose

and what roleplay means to you.

Starfleet Policies:

- Pick a general order and write briefly what it means to you.

- Create a departmental policy and submit it to your CO for

use. (IE: weapon handling for sec, lab use for sci/med, etc)

Player Management:

- Conduct a player evaluation with another officer (discuss

their goals, their training, their ambitions, etc)

- Complete a situational problem given to you by the CO

- Provide an assignment to one of your department members

Graduation: (* As directed by the CO for completion)

- Complete a written examination

- Complete a bridge command performance evaluation

- Participate in a simulation scenario


Level 2 Command - Command Staff (SO/XO)

Outline:

Roleplay Portion:

- Conduct a senior staff meeting to discuss departmental

situations and status.

- Conduct an inspection of a department

- Write a welcome letter for your ship, including help

information and where to contact others.

Training Portion:

- Coordinate and operate a "training day" on board your vessel

- Train a crew member in any qualified certification

- Conduct a brief seminar on "good training Roleplay"

Starfleet Policies:

- Write a brief paper on using "Diplomacy or Tactical Prowess"

- Setup a ship policy in regards to an important area

(promotion procedures, ship access, etc...) for CO approval

- Conduct a brief seminar on the importance of policies (feel

free to cite examples from history and specific ones)

Player Management:

- Write an evaluation report on one of your department heads

- Resolve a conflict (Given by the CO)

- Conduct a lecture on a player management topic approved by CO

Graduation:

- Complete a written exam

- Complete a bridge command performance evaluation

- Participate in a simulation scenario

Level 3 Command - Captain Level (CO)

Outline:

Roleplay Portion:

- Conduct a ship wide conference to discuss current status

- Conduct a ship-wide inspection

- Submit a ship status report and captain's log outlining

- Roleplay with an alien culture and promote peace

Training Portion:

- Assist with ensuring all crew members have their training

requests completed. (within reason)

- Conduct a seminar on a command topic (approved by CO)

- Write a brief lecture on a command topic (approved by CO)

Starfleet Policies:

- Approve and implement a ship-wide policy

- Implement and send a CoC outline to all personnel

Player Management Portion:

- Resolve a conflict (given by CO)

- Conduct a promotion/award Ceremony for all crew

- Create an assignment for a crew member

- Write a brief paper on ways to maintain activity and possible

problems that may arise to produce inactivity.

Graduation:

- Command Sim Evaluation

- Patrol Ship Evaluation

- Written Exam

- Kobyashi Maru
