Sozzi Makim is a Security Specialist, currently assigned to Starfleet's 214th Fleet.

I've been playing ATS off and on since 1995, with characters in most every @org. Sozzi makes like number 23 for me.

Description

A humanoid male, average height and broad shouldered. His hair, black with brown highlights, is swept back, spiked, with a pronounced widows peak. The forehead, lined, descends to a pair of heavy eyebrows, darker than the hair above. Blue eyes with long lashes, no lines around them, then his nose which has a pronounced bridge. His cheekbones are high and wide, while his jawline is narrower, pulling his cheeks in. Thin lips, then his chin with a bare hint of cleft. Skin tone is rich buff, like coffee with cream. A light smattering of darker freckles scatter across his cheek bones. The broad shoulders and chest descend and narrow to his waist and hips. Both upper arms have pronounced muscle mass, while the forearms are corded beneath the skin. As with his arms, the upper legs are also heavily muscled above the knee.

Personal History

Childhood

Sozzi led an ordinary life on Alpha Centauri, the second son of caring parents. Precocious and ever eager, Sozzi's parents encouraged him to experiment across a wide spectrum. Sozzi found a knack for the Centauran bongo drums, something he continues with to this day. During his later teenage years, Sozzi began working out with free weights at a gym nearby his home. He also trained in indrial (Centauran boxing). This program led Sozzi to the physique he has today.

Formative Years

After graduating from secondary school, Sozzi opted against pursuing higher education. Instead he traveled the UFP Cluster, visiting the Federation's founding worlds and nearby colonies. His room and board he payed with entertainment and physical labor. The two years abroad gave Sozzi a touch of wanderlust. A smooth talking Starfleet recruiter snapped young Sozzi up with tales of new worlds and new civilizations. Given his obvious physical ability, Sozzi entered Starfleet Academy's enlisted program as a Security recruit.

His year at the Academy went well. Sozzi continued with his weight training routines. He trained as well in various Starfleet Security disciplines. Sozzi earned no marks of exemplary performance, and was content to be a Security crewman so long as he got to see the frontier.

Currently

Sozzi's first posting was to the USS Valley Forge. A quick series of staff changes within the Security department aboard saw Sozzi posted as Acting Chief of Security, and the senior most non-commissioned officer aboard. Though it was unintended, Sozzi stepped into these roles, developing new security routines aboard USS Valley Forge, and taking on mentoring duty for new enlisted crew.

Dissatisfied with Starfleet's action during the Gamora crisis, Sozzi resigned from Starfleet. For a month he went home, to collect his thoughts and regain sense of purpose. When ready, Sozzi returned to Starfleet, again posted to the USS Valley Forge as a member of the Security Department. He applied for, and was accepted to, Starfleet Academy. However, one week into his Academy education events at home required Sozzi again leave. He was reassigned to the Transient Division pending his return to full duty.

After a period of time away, Sozzi made yet another return to Starfleet, now assigned to the 214th Fleet. He resumed his role as a Security Specialist. On stardate 83587 he was offered the role of Chief of Security, 214th Fleet.

Personality

Off-duty, Sozzi is impetuous and out spoken, with a love for beer of any type. He spends time in the holodeck honing his physique. Sozzi also enjoys whupping his superior officers in sparring sessions.

On-duty, Sozzi is quiet, focused, and driven to perform his duties to their utmost. Underlying this drive is the nagging doubt that he will fail those who count on him most.

Special Interests

Strength training and physical conditioning. Sozzi spends time in the holodeck with a fitness training gym program to maintain his strength.

Indrial. Sozzi practices Centauran boxing. The ancient Greeks are credited with inventing boxing, and it went with those Greeks transplanted to Alpha Centauri by The Preservers.

Centauran bongos. Sozzi has a three-bongo set, sized for easy transport within a carry-on bag. Though he has no formal training, Sozzi has some natural skill for the instrument.

Sozzi manned Tactical aboard the USS Valley Forge during the battle to take Gamora III. Ensign Ashleigh O'Dae commanded.

Sozzi manned Tactical aboard the USS Valley Forge during the investigation of Kzinti and Gorn vessels making progress to Gamora III. Valley Forge was forced to disengage following heavy fire. Commander Kevin Montgomery commanded.

Sozzi was Acting Chief of Security aboard USS Erasmus during that ship's mission to IKB HoSghurwI'.

Sozzi's rank is Petty Officer First-Class.
