General Background:
Sienovan tr'Aieme was born of s'Radaik until the death of his parents, whereupon he applied for and was granted permission to return to his father's Hfihar, s'Aieme. Upon reaching legal age, he entered the Phi'lasasam and quickly graduated into the Galae as a qualified flight officer. Then Erein tr'Aieme quickly saw action against the Cardassians, previous allies whom had attacked without provocation a Rihannsu sensor array IRSA mandukar'klhu. Conflict quickly erupted, and Sienovan was on the fast-track to promotion as he endured several battles with Cardassian forces. With several decorations earned and the conflict coming to a close, erei'Riov Sienovan tr'Aieme took several months off to address wounds received. When he returned to duty, he was re-assigned from regular fleet duty and put in command of a new and small branch of the Galae, Galae Reconnaisance. For some time he performed reconnaisance missions outside Shiar space with skill and stealth.
Several months later the erei'Riov was re-assigned back to frontline combat duty in the wake of a massive rise in pirate activity that spread across the galaxy. Seeming to operate as one organization, the pirates began to operate in greater numbers and with more powerful warships than ever seen before, ravaging trade lanes in several empires. Placed in command of the chR Valdore, namesake of the Valdore class cruiser, Sienovan tr'Aieme commanded several victories against pirate forces, destroying over a dozen pirate ships. In retaliation, the pirates upped the ante by sending a large battle group of warships against IRS Deleth in orbit of Nogark. While commanding the chR D'hannam ih'kholar, erei'Riov tr'Aieme executed a textbook defense of IRS Deleth and managed to force a withdrawl of the pirate fleet, sacrificing the D'hannam ih'kholar in return.
After the loss of the D'hannam ih'kholar to the pirate forces at Nogark, Galae Command commissioned the chR S'harien in it's place, and erei'Riov tr'Aieme was placed in command. Once again, the erei'Riov's skillfull command brought about the destruction of several pirate ships even as they grew larger in size. When the pirates began operating battlecruiser and battleship sized warships, Sienovan was placed in temporary command of the chR Ikaesis, a D'deridex class warbird. Under his command the Ikaesis destroyed several pirate battlecruisers, and forced the retreat of their battleships. Realizing that Shiar space was too well defended, the pirate forces began to move their operations into other empires' territory.
Federation forces had managed to locate the pirates' base of operations on the far side of their space, and erei'Riov tr'Aieme was placed in command of the Rihannsu Galae task force sent to join a larger fleet of 'yikh' forces. While Starfleet insisted the combined force be under their sole command, the erei'Riov successfully argued for a joint chain of command in anticipation of Starfleet casulties during the battle. Once the battle to destroy the pirate base was underway, erei'Riov tr'Aiemes prediction proved correct as the pirate forces heavily damaged the majority of Starfleet forces and broke-up their part of the combined force at the outset. Taking command of the remainder of the joint fleet, the erei'Riov organized the destruction of the pirate base's defense fleet, allowing the combined fleet to move in on the base itself.
Following the destruction of the pirate's base, piracy across the two quadrants dropped back to it's 'normal' levels, allowing the Shiar and erei'Riov tr'Aieme a break from conflict. As a reward for his diligent service in the pirate conflict, Sienovan was promoted to full Riov and given command of the re-formed S'harien Wing. He spent the next few months training his crew in lessons learned from the recent battles, and briefly representated s'Aieme as llaugh in the Deihuit. He also used his increasing clout as Galae veteran to promote several improvements and changes in organization, as well as acquisition of new vessels to support the Galae.
Every Rihannsu knows that peace never lasts, and several incidents of unknown vessels violating Shiar space as well as a purported Starfleet Oberth class vessel under the flag of USS Grisom violating sacred Eisn space led to the Shiar, and the Riov, to increase alert and readiness. After investigations with the cooperation of the Federation revealed that they had sold several Oberths to the Klingon Empire and other factions in the past, the Riov realized a resurgence of Klivam aggression may be on the horizon. Again he was proven correct, as the Klingons began openly violating Shiar space around Nogark and Nelvana. One such incident led to a skirmish between the Riov's chR S'harien and the Klingon twV maqbet, a K'Vort class heavy bird of prey, that resulted in the retreat of the maqbet.
In the midst of several skirmishes with the Klingons, the Riov was witness to a sudden chaos within the government of the Shiar itself. His hru'Hfirh and mentor, galae'Enriov Seviek tr'Aieme had surprised everyone by announcing his retirement from both the Galae and as hru'Deihu of the Deihuit. The power vacuum that created led to a deadlock in the Deihuit over a successor, as the Riov had been nominated to replace him, along with former galae'Fvillha Ishadhael t'Radaik. An ill-advised remark by the llaugh of s'Lhoell led to a potential honor duel between he and Ishadhael t'Radaik. Ishadhael t'Radaik eventually refused to accept the nomination of galae'Enriov in protest, leaving Riov tr'Aieme as the only proposed successor. While s'Evahni and s'Radaik refused to vote in protest over the s'Lhoell insult, Riov tr'Aieme was voted in to the post of galae'Enriov by a 3 Yay vote from s'Aieme, s'Lhoell, and s'Khellian.
It was not long after his rise to the position of galae'Enriov, that the Klingon Empire openly invaded and attacked Shiar territory and vessels. Sienovan wasted no time in re-organizing the Galae to face this threat, and personally lead counterattacks against the Klingon Empire and turning them back at every turn, often outnumbered or outclassed. Due to the threats from all sides, Sienovan was content with keeping the conflict at a mere stalemate in order to prevent an escalation into quadrant-wide war. However, events continued to conspire to against his wishes. In the midst of the conflict with the Klingon Empire, the Kzinti began sending raiding parties of frigates and fighters into several empires' space. One such raiding party attacked and destroyed the chR Lhael, Sienovan's first command, while he was off-duty. In response he took command of a D'deridex class Warbird, the chR Eyiv s'Rea, and hunted down the Kzinti raiding party and engaged them in Klingon territory, destroying the fighters and running the frigate off. Upon announcing this victory, his words were met with grave insults from an incompetent Starfleet pilot. Sienovan in turn took the Eyiv s'Rea into Federation space and hovered outside of weapons range of Organia to protest Starfleet's inaction against the Kzinti and inability to control their juniors' tongues. Though harsh words were exchanged he had the Eyiv s'Rea depart Federation space under cloak, another jab of protest. Upon exiting Federation space his warbird came under attack by a Klingon Vor'cha attack cruiser, which then retreated into Federation territory and claimed to have come under attack first, a dishonorable and cowardly act of deception on the Klingons part that only served to confirm their status as barbarians.
Despite that incident a later Kzinti attack at Eisn 'smoothed' things over with the Federation as they had sent their flagship USS Theodore Roosevelt, a Sovereign class warship, to the border in time to assist the defense against the Kzinti. Although successful and afterwards offerings of peace were exchanged, followup communications proved useless as the Federation failed to reply for weeks and months at a time. In the process the conflict with the Klingon Empire continued to grow, with a frigate from the formerly-allied Qvarne Sector attacking a Galae vessel with galae'Enriov Sienovan aboard, as he chased a Klingon warship from Shiar space to QI'tomer. This destroyed all hopes of reconciliation with the Qvarne Sector, and brought in the Cardassian Union into the conflict to meet the additional aggressors. Though the Galae and Madrasad massed to attack a joint Klingon-Qvarne base near QI'tomer, the attack was postponed and called off due to pleadings by the Federation government to not escalate further.
Again this was not to last, as the external and internal conflicts surrounding the Qvarne Sector contributed to its downfall. As chaos began to reign on Qvarne IV, a Galae vessel was dispatched to observe the situation from a distance and under cloak. Under the guise of providing 'medical aid', a Starfleet vessel arrived at the scene and proceeded to attack the Galae vessel unprovoked. Though neither side was victorious and the Galae vessel withdrew to Shiar territory, the scales had been tipped. Shortly thereafter, the Shiar and Union began launching numerous patrols and attacks into Federation space. Though several initial engagements were stalemated, in one engagement a Federation fighter was captured but destroyed to mask the escape of the chR S'harien. In another attack, galae'Enriov Sienovan personally commanded a D'renet scout to act as bait, luring a Klingon cloak-attack warship into a duel on the border of Federation space. As the galae'Enriov began to win, a Starfleet Defiant arrived on the scene and started to attack him. Giving the word, the chR Lhael immediately inbounded and decloaked while a Cardassian Bladewing fighter launched from the galae'Enriovs scout, springing the trap on the Defiant and placing it under heavy fire. Though the Defiant was reinforced by a frigate and fighter of its own after the Klingon warship retreated, the coordination and shock of the Galae/Union ambush was more than it could handle. Sienovan personally flew his scout into harms way and held the Defiant in a tractor lock long enough for it to be disabled by the fleet, and he then captured the crew and towed his new prize to a Union base.
