Sharia Jin

I am Sharia Jin, and this is my story. I am one of two..twins that is. My brother Zakar is just a few minutes older than I am and we often tease each other by calling the other "little" (referring to his age over me and my height over his.)
Our parents, Astor Jin and Shayla Elbrun married in 2376. He is a business man with his own trading company with ports and offices all across the galaxy. She is a research pathologist. When they married they agreed to live on Bynaus where she had been working for some time. They were overjoyed when they found out that Mom was pregnant and began making plans when they realized they were having twins. We were born on February 2, 2381 and the parents were thrilled when we came as a matched set, a boy for Dad and a girl for Mom. Mom always dreamed of a child of hers following in her foot steps in research and Astor finally had the son he wanted to carry on the family business. However, that was not going to be the case. Neither of the us wanted anything to do with family business or family glory. We each choose their own path, much to the dismay and anger of the parents. Astor and Shayla went as far as to tell Zakar that they would disown him if he did not follow in his fathers trail. I, ever protective of my brother, stood up to him and announced that I too would not be following in moms trail and if they were going to disown my brother they had better do the same to me. An uneasy truce was established in the family.
While my telepathic abilities are not as strong as my brothers, I do have very active abilities. While most Betazoids sleep they still can sense the thoughts and emotions of others, even a bit stronger and learn through their lives how to block those out so they can rest, I've never mastered that art. That means unfortunately that I see the dreams and nightmares of many while I sleep.
I went on to Johns Hopkins Medical School where I earned my MD and am currently serving in Starfleet completing my residency and waiting to see if I will be in the next class at Starfleet Academy. I currently serve on the USS Achilles.
There is little to note about my growing years. The fact that I have a twin brother that I am very protective of, even at this age is not secret. There is nothing that I wouldn't do for my brother and the same can be said for him.
There have been a few relationships in my life but my life revolves around my career and Starfleet.
Update: I have reached one of my goals. I did not become CMO of the Achilles. I am now the CMO of the USS Valley Forge. I recently graduated from SFA and hold the rank of Ensign. I am still working toward becoming Fleet CMO, but that will take time. Until then I will go my job to the best of my ability and hone my command skills so that there will be no doubt in anyone's mind when the time comes that I make a perfect Fleet CMO.
Update: Now having reached the rank of LTJG I am still CMO on the Valley Forge. I have been given the added responsibilities of being CO of the USS Ishana, a Siva class ship as well as XO of the USS Peleus under the command of LTJG Ashleigh Harrington. I am also a member of Command Class 2405.
Update: I am now the XO of the USS Achilles under the command of LT Ashleigh Harrington as well as having reached the rank of Lt.
