Theme
The Romulan Star Empire on ATS draws on both the media canon and Diane Duane's Rihannsu series of novels. As with ATS in general, the divergence point from media canon is the DS9 episode, "Way of the Warrior". As a general rule, cultural materials from the Rihannsu novels are used on ATS, but historical events are not. Thus, the Hfihar (House) system is ATS canon, but the Bloodwing landing on the Senate building is not. Remans are not part of the ATS continuity; instead, the Twins were colonized as described in the intercalary chapters of The Romulan Way.
