Privateer

Privateer-class Destroyer.
The original Privateer-class ship was a Romulan Ael'sienae-class warship that was captured by the Pryan Coalition. The Pryans made extensive modifications to the ship but kept the cloaking device and most of the weapons. The plasma torpedos were removed and replaced with photon torpedo launchers.
This ship was commissioned as the PSG Warguard and went on to serve as the Pryan flagship for several years before being lost in the Orion Civil War.
The success of the Privateer led to the Pryan shipyards selling a downgraded civillian model model that was quickly copied by third-party shipyards. The Privateer became the favored ship of pirates and mercenaries.
The military version of the Privateer is made only at Chelestra Spacedock orbiting Pryan.
The civillian version is no longer being built by the Pryan Coalition, but several are known to exist.
The exact number of third-party knockoffs in use by pirate and mercenary fleets is unknown.
