Loss of the Valiance

The following came through as a constituent report to the UFP Assembly.
I will keep this message short. The flagship of Starfleet, a Sovereign class vessel, the USS Valiance was captured by an aggressive force over the planet Krussel IX. At this time reports are sketchy on the status of some members of the crew. It can, however, be confirmed that the USS Valiance is no longer under the control of Starfleet. It is the opinion of this member of the Federation Council that the aggressors assaulted this Federation vessel without warning.
I call upon the leadership of the Federation Council to take action. I strongly urge that the Chief Councilor call a meeting to discuss this tragedy and appropriate actions. Once again, the inaction of the Pirious administration has placed Federation citizens at risk. The pirate threat is still outstanding and now this threat from Krussel IX has appeared. How many more lives must be lost before this administration takes action.
Today, the capture of one of the Federations most prized vessels, our flagship, has resulted in loss of life and has emboldened a hostile force with a soverign class ship. To the families of those who lost their lives today I am sorry for your loss. I urge you all to consider in the upcoming election the last time you heard from a sitting representative on the council. In the next few weeks vote for those who will make a difference and protect our citizens. Change needs to happen, secure our Federation.
