Krim

Krim Fala is a Officer (Currently: Lieutenant/Esid) in the Bajoran Defense Force. He is a member of the Security staff aboard DS9. Krim is also the Commanding officer of the BSV Vigilance a Deimos class Destroyer.

Background
Childhood and Occupation
Krim Fala was born and raised on Bajor in Kendra province, as a child he was born into the occupation as many of his generation have been. His family was killed in the Kendra valley massacre. After the massacre Krim was cared for by a woman named Trentin Fala who's name he was ultimately given. Raised by Trentin and her family Krim eventually became a member of the Bajoran resistance at the youngest age possible. He fought in many decisive battles of the war and was promoted within the ranks of the Resistance for devising extremely effective guerrilla and ground assault tactics against the Occupying Cardassians. Near the end of the war Krim met an untimely end in the resistance with the butt of a Cardassian phaser rifle to the face, damaging the bone structure of his ridges which has never healed correctly since. He was then enslaved and taken to the orbiting station of Terok Nor.
Aboard the Station Krim was used in the mining and ore operations in the pylons. The conditions were horribly oppressive however due to his brute strength and will to survive he managed to stay alive. Little did he know, the only reason he was even alive and aboard Terok Nor was due to his Adopted mother. She was an informant and had ties to the Cardassian occupation, she was working subversively with the Cardassians and the Resistance. Despite preaching non-involvement in the Occupation, she was able to secure for Krim a standard of living aboard the station that surpassed many who died, extra rations delivered by messenger and medical treatment for his injuries.
Bajor joins the Federation
Following the liberation of Bajor and the end of the Occupation Krim enlisted in the Bajoran Militia in what he considered an effort to protect the homeworld and people who had given him the courage to survive all those years during the occupation. His carrer through the Bajoran Militia, and eventually Bajoran Defense Force once incorporated was nothing but spectacular. His experience in the occupation had given him the skills nessecary to participate in decisive post-occupation battles.Krim was also responsible for the integration of the Resistance's sub-impulse fighters on the Bajoran moons into the Bajoran Militia after the occupation. Though ancient and dated by most standards the fighters made a contribution to the otherwise resource starved Militia.
During the negotiations for the creation of an Independent Bajoran state or the signing of a treaty joining the United Federation of Planets, Krim voted for and supported the Bajoran Free Nation. However once the Federation Treaty was signed and Bajor became a member of the federation Krim began to have second thoughts about remaining with the Federation. His voice was an outspoken one but he was unable to sway enough people to his cause for a Bajoran Free Nation.
BSV Opaka and the Bajoran Merchant Fleet
At the rank of Captain Krim resigned from the Bajoran Defense Force and signed on as a private security officer aboard a freighter the "BSV Opaka" there he remained, doing trade runs with the crew as well as other small jobs on the side to make a living. During one unfortunate incident with a cargo airlock he was thrown out into space for several agonizing seconds. While usually a staunch and hearty individual airlocks can give Krim shivers and spacewalks are out of the question.
Bajoran Defense Force
Soon after hearing that Bajor had left the Federation Krim once again had his feelings of Nationalism and pride restored. Krim reenlisted in the Bajoran Militia where he found his old commander, and long time friend in the Resistance "expecting him". Once the Bajoran Militia and Defense Force were combined and took full control over the BSB Deep Space Nine station then Captain Krim was promoted to Major and transferred to a Weapons Testing Facility on Jerrado. Here he worked with Bajoran scientists on defensive orbital weapon platforms for the BDF. After working under quiet, secretive positions for almost two years Krim requested a transfer to a more real-time oriented position. He believed that in this position he could make a larger impact on the daily lives of his fellow Bajorans. Utilizing his skills he learned over his lengthy career in the Bajoran Defense Force. He was stationed on DS9 as a high-level security officer until his posting as Security Chief of Deep Space Nine.
Amnesia
Not long into his posting as the Chief of Security Krim was away on leave in his home town in Kendra Province. While there, he went to visit some of the old resistance hideouts in the mountains surrounding the valley. Unfortunately there was something left behind, a Cardassian Concussion grenade set to detonate when someone walks within range. Krim was knocked out and found a few days later, suffering from Amnesia. His lost memories did not resurface for almost three months. Due to this unfortunate incident in which he forgot much of his tenure aboard DS9 he was honorably demoted to the Rank of Kivas Esid (2nd Lt.) During his recovery Krim developed an attachment to his Doctor, a common psychological condition. He now believes he must look out for her, to repay her for the care she gave him during his recovery.
BSV Vigilance
Following a series of psycological and physical treatments Krim regained much of his lost memory and abilities. Krim was promoted to Esid (Lieutenant) and given command of a Deimos Class Destroyer the BSV Vigilance. The Vigilance requires at least two Officers to leave the station on missions an as such has not been able to conduct many flights. (2/2 Vessel) Currently she has only completed her maiden voyage and training missions. Krim can be actively found recruiting on Bajor for the Defense Force and is a large monetary supporter of recruitment efforts. Shortly after the vessel's comission Krim was involved in a Joint Strike Force mission to New Hallee colony in search of a renegade vessel responsible for a kidnapping. For his efforts in this mission Krim had his original rank of Nepet (Captain) restored
