Jonothan Starsmore is a retired Starfleet officer. Formerly the Fleet MCPO of Starfleet, and Secretary of State of the Federation under President Sam Bungar, he has now immigrated to the Unified Qvarne Sector with his family where he holds dual citizenship, as well as position of High Admiral of the Qvarne Extrasolar Navy, while also retaining his position as CEO of Mindnet Technologies Inc.
Much of Starsmore's later history is classified in one form or another.
Those sections of his history will be noted as such.
Items of note will be listed as such.
However this information is either classified, or a secret known to a select few.
This will be indicated as such.

Born to farmers on the colony world of Oxmyx, Jonothan spent much of his childhood following in his father's footsteps of running the family farm. However much of that youth was really spent daydreaming over the exploits of Kirk and Picard, and once he was of age he enlisted with Starfleet as a non-commissioned officer.
Jonothan spent much of his career in Starfleet, retiring briefly at times to focus on his personal life. He excelled through the Starfleet Enlisted Program, entering Starfleet proper as a tactical officer in the fleet. During the next fifteen years, he advanced through security and tactical assignments throughout the fleet, as well as several advisory positions to Starfleet Command itself.
Jonothan served on many ships within Starfleet, under many Captains. Those of note include the USS Inchon and the USS Kiev, both Sovereign class vessels under the command of Benjamin Delier, and the USS Nightwing III, under the command of Michael Davis. He rose through the Enlisted ranks, eventually serving as Fleet Master Chief Petty Officer, the Enlisted representative to Starfleet Command. He took part in many battles and operations, including the joint Starfleet/Federation Merchant Ops relief efforts of "Earth 2" in the Alternate Universe. He also found love.
While serving on the USS Nightwing III, Jonothan met the woman who would eventually become his wife, Tapel Qes, the Diplomatic Attache to Bajor. The two met by sheer chance, and began a relationship that eventually culminated in marriage and an expected child. But not all love stories have a happy ending...
In the spring of 2395, a new and deadly race made itself known: the Tyrixx. Invading and capturing first the Klingon world of Boreth, and then the Federation world of Taurus II, these creatures served as formidable foes. Utilizing technology that is completely organic and biological in nature, they quickly overwhelmed both worlds, capturing their inhabitants and placing them cocoons, using them only for their DNA to propagate the Tyrixx species itself.
Jonothan was part of the initial force responding to the Tyrixx assault on Taurus II, a force consisting of both Starfleet personnel and Klingon Defense Force personnel, a good number of them equipped with smartguns and powered armor on emergency loan from the Starfleet Marine Corps. A large number of the assault force was subdued by Tyrixx telepathic assault and captured, Jonothan being one of them, only a days after finding out about Tapel's pregnancy.
Taurus II was liberated a scant few months later by a larger combined force, but the time in drugged captivity severely scarred Jonothan psychologically, leaving him withdrawn from the world in a near catatonic state. It was only through the assistance of a long-time Betazoid friend was he able to recover from this, just in time for the birth of his daughter, Nicole Kirel Starsmore.
But the joyous event did not remain joyous for long, as complications from the birth, as well as the stress of Jonothan's capture lead to Tapel's death, which was a crushing blow to Jonothan. Despite the fact that her memories live on in the symbiote Qes, and in his heart, her absence hardened Jonothan, the only soft spot being for his daughter, renamed Nicole Kirel Tapel Starsmore in honor of her mother.
After the death of his wife, Jonothan's zeal for life transform into an almost obsessive zeal for protection; protection of his daughter Nicole, and protection of the Federation on a whole. He was shuffled from posting to posting, gaining a reputation for his almost psychotic security measures, but it was not until his posting to the USS Nightwing III that he started to come out of his shell. It was there that he met the next light in his life, another Trill named Nariz Dur. Even then still scarred by the impact of losing Tapel, Jonothan was slow to begin a relationship, but eventually one blossomed between the two of them, and with Nicole them became a family once again.
It was then that the pair decided to retire from Starfleet, and enter the Civilian Sector.
Leaving Starfleet on an Honorable Discharge, Jonothan entered the life of a freighter captain and a cargo trader. Using the rented USFr Fitzgerald (rented on a good rate from Federation Merchant Organization), Jonothan and Nicole eventually earned enough for the commission and construction of their own freighter, christened the SS Paladium.
As a family the three of them travelled the spaceways, living life, trading, earning a living. Jonothan taught Nariz about how to defend herself, how to fight, and how to survive, and Nariz taught Jonothan something a bit more personal, helping him come to terms with the loss of his wife.
But all good things must come to an end, as did their time together. Nariz decided that it was time to return to service in Starfleet, but Jonothan felt he could still do good things as a civilian.
And to help him fund those great things, Jonothan funded the incorporation of Mindnet Technologies, Inc., a Trill-based corporation focused on research & development and industrial manufacturing. Corporate profits allowed Jonothan to travel the spaceways, doing what he could, where he could. And those travels, eventually, led him to Hallee.
This information is known to a select few. If you have to ask me in-game, you probably
aren't one of the few that knows this:
It was at this time that Jonothan began operating under an alias, after a run-in with
a member of the Cardassian Union, and a bounty placed on his head. Very few
individuals know that Thomas Moriarti and Jonothan Starsmore are the same man.
Hallee, already known for it's strangeness, was home to the sudden occurrence of two stranger events: a mysterious Q (or Q-like entity) calling himself Tatzin-Kao, and the sudden appearance of two temples; one known as the Temple of Light, and one known as the Temple of Darkness.
Tatzin-Kao soon took up 'residence' in the Temple of Darkness, and the adopted son of Hallee's governess Renee remained in the Temple of Light. Both spoke of an oncoming attack, invaders from the Otherside, and rallying those here to defend against that attack.
In the Temple of Light, over a dozen individuals oathed themselves as Knights in the Order of the Light, including Jonothan, standing in defense against the Otherside. When it arrived, these Knights sacrified their lives to fight the Otherside, or fight on the Otherside (details are hazy, even for those surviving Knights. Getting shot in the chest with a Gorn Plasma Cannon will do that), while an assembled force defended Hallee in space against the invaders.
As the defenders were victorious, the Aurellan known as Tia'a arrived, reviving the Knights and defeating Tatzin-Kao swiftly and decisively, absorbing him into her Lance. After the defeat of Tatzin-Kao and the Otherside, both temples disappeared, presumably back to whereever they came.

Unbeknownst to anyone but Jonothan and Tatzin-Kao, there was an offer on the table
for Jonothan to side with Tatzin-Kao and serve him in these events. Tempted by the
resurrection of his wife, Jonothan very nearly accepted the offer from the Q-like
entity, but apon the realization that his wife could never be returned to him,
Jonothan instead swore himself as a Knight of the Order of the Light.
Starsmore's Oath
My name is Jonothan Starsmore
I swear on this blade, and the soul of my wife,
Tapel-Qes Starsmore, that I will defend this
Universe, such as it is, from whatever evil,
United we stand against the Darkness,
The Light of our Cause is our Sword.
United we stand against the Dark Forces,
Bringing Light unto the Dark.

After the events on Hallee and after a recovery period, Jonothan was elected Governor of Andor in a landslide vote, representing the planet to the Federation at large. It was also during this time, faced with escalating violence and chaos in the galaxy, that the Hardware Emporeum of Andor was opened, supply affordable defensive weaponry and armor to the merchants of the galaxy.
It was also at this time that Jonothan began working as an agent of the Genesis Echo Project, a private organization of researches and citizens, investigating unusual events in the galaxy and working behind the scenes to prevent catastrophy. It was the Project who first encountered a deadly new force in this galaxy: The Galactic Terran Imperium.
The Galactic Terran Imperium was a empire of xenophobic Terrans, possessing technology well beyond anything previously encountered, technology which allowed them to cross from one dimension to another (much like the classified exploits of James Kirk & co in what was called the 'Mirror Universe'). This technology allowed their Empire to span across innumeral dimensions, murdering or enslaving any alien race they encountered.
An Expeditionary Force, akin to a simple scouting fleet, quickly announced their intentions to enslave or murder every living alien in Jonothan's dimension. Outfitted with advanced armor, weaponry, and fleets of fighter craft, this exploratory force began to follow through on their intent quite easily, capturing several worlds rather quickly.
One of the worlds captured was Sherman's Planet, which would soon become infamous for one unique quality: it was the point closest to the central cluster of the Milky Way Galaxy, the Galaxy inhabitted by everyone, that served as a dimensional sinkhole. The dimensional barriers were at their weakest at Sherman's Planet (the next closest sinkhole being several months away at maximum warp), which is what the Imperium needed in order for their dimensional shifting technology to function.
As the 17th Expeditionary Force worked to finish construction of a Stargate, which would allow them to connect back with the actual Imperium invasion force and allow it to pour forth into this dimension, the native Empires finally banded together, defeating that fleet in a last ditch effort.
The leader of the 17th Expeditionary Force, Talia Dare, was captured by native forces and taken to Organia, but not before she launched a "log buoy" with data on what her fleet faced here. Her small victory was short-lived, however, as she was summarily executed, beheaded, by the then-Director of the Genesis Echo Project: Trelesta Rowan.
