The Iron Core Space Rock was first charted sometime around October of 2400 by Terran Reckoning.
At one point during the migration into Local Space by the Cephalopoda Mollusca Astris, it was considered as a means of motivating the organism away from populated systems and heavily-used trade routes by enticing it with an abundant food source.
After the Cephalopoda Mollusca Astris departed Local Space, Prime Minister of Trill Kiri Arzin towed the Iron Core Space Rock into the Trill Sector to provide employment for his constituents and boost the system's sagging economy.
From what I've gathered regarding the fate of the ICSR, it was consumed for resources by the Drogh while they were in Local Space.
