The Federation government would like to issue a statement of apology to those governments who falsely believed that this government was preparing for a first strike attack against the Klingon empire. At no time was this government preparing for a first-strike attack against the Klingon government. This government WAS preparing to defend itself against sneak attacks and ambush but no first strike offensive planning was taking place. Any plans drafted or archived on the invasion of QI'tomer would have only been utilized if the Klingon Empire initiated a first strike against our holdings. No form of sneak attack or ambush has been committed on behalf of the Klingon government.
The Federation government respects space which governments have defined as sovereign as long as such space does not violate the long standing sovereign space of the United Federation of Planets. Through out the entire process of negotiation the Qang of the Klingon Empire has handled himself in a manner worthy of his empire. This government continues to hope for a peaceful resolution to the border dispute issue so that our governments may move forward on the path to peace.
