Dark chocolate brown drizzles into the irises of this woman, almond cut eyes carrying heavy black eyelashes which help to create a smoky allure about her gaze. Cheek bones are high and firmly rounded, jaw line delicately crafted and creating an overall oval shape to her facial contours. Ridges etch about her dark slate grey features, most notably her eyes and forehead, curving about the brow line and kissing upon her cheeks before disappearing into the smoothness of regular flesh. Brilliant sea blue saturates the tear shaped ridge in the middle of her forehead, ridge dragging down the length of her nose and lightly touching the edges of her full mouth which tugs into a perpetual smile. A dark berry stain colors her lips, the hue stark against her dark grey flesh. Her neck is long and sinuous, thick ridges dashing down either side and ebbing their way into the nape of her neck, sea blue splashes of color adorning intermittent ridges. Standing around 5'6" her body curves and dips as a woman's should, though chest is not overly large, quite small in fact leaving her hips to pick up the slack, curving outwards and dipping down to long legs. Her mane is thickness at its best, ebony black coloring the long mass of hair that cascades down her shoulders to mid-back, waves etching throughout.
Ily is the eldest child of Nemoris Tolmak and Nysra Faleen, the only daughter in the family with Tivek (18), Damak (17), Ravik (15) and Sarakis (6) being her younger brothers. She has a dead sister floating somewhere but the spawn of her father from previous relationships hardly concern her and she has yet to acknowledge there could be other Nemoris' running around in some form.
Her relationship with her father is one that is fairly particular. She detests him for how he treats her mother, not that he treats her badly in a physical sense, but that his work and his secret dalliances seem to encompass most of his time, if not take him away completely. She did not have that close of a relationship with him growing up simply because he wasn't around. He was a mythical figure to her, and it's only been in the last few years that she has gotten to know him better, having the ability to travel with him since she joined Foreign Affairs officially in 2402 with the Madrasad. She studied under Guln Caldak, one of the Senior Diplomats of the Cardassian Union while studying at the Anakorn Academy. While she graduated Diplomatic studies and foreign affairs, her original major was not one that was to bring her into the diplomatic track, rather a military one, until it was discovered she suffered from a particular heart condition that had gone undetected until she was 15. The Terran equivalent of this condition is known as Wolff-Parkinson-White (WPW) Syndrome, and due to an underlying condition known as Ebstein's anomaly this was unable to be corrected surgically due to the fact it would most likely resurface again. Due to this condition which most often rears it's ugly head under periods of extreme stress, she was persuaded to join the diplomatic track by her parents and the nature of her condition kept under wraps so as not to compromise her position within the Union and risk her being labelled as an invalid. Medication most often keeps these attacks from occurring but they're generally only taken when she knows she'll be going into a stressful situation, such as a combat situation when she gets called upon with the Madrasad. Changes in lifestyle have had to occur as well, ensuring that she doesn't suddenly keel over one day though that still is a possibility. Sudden death. Oddly enough it's one of her least thought about worries, other things more important than whether or not she'll simply pop and die one day. Makes sex an often interesting, but fun, gamble.
Since officially joining the Madrasad she has risen through the ranks to her current rank of Dalin, an unexpected promotion that nonetheless pleased her. She has had the pleasure of working with the GFA, RSE and UFP though by far her favorite interactions are with the UFP where she intentionally makes their diplomats lives hell.
Ily is a series of masks upon masks upon masks. She has gotten quite used to playing many different roles dependent upon what is required. Ice Queen Bitch, giggly naive diplomat unawares of other cultures, whatever is required to get her job done. Outside the Union she does tend to stick towards the more naive ends of interaction, preferring to lower peoples' guards by enabling them to feel as if they are protecting her in some manner, providing her a wider view of the world, as if they were her caretakers. She finds this method leads more people, especially within the UFP, to trust her and welcome her as a Cardassian, rather than revile her as one. Within the Union itself she plays the cold and calculating role, quite comfortable with her dry sarcastic wit and cold mannerisms towards those in the Union, enjoying few moments where she can just be herself, if ever at all. She has no patience for Cardassians or people who are inept, as most recently shown when one Garresh who thought it was pertinent to play video games on a battle bridge was dismissed from the bridge, and eventually led to that Garresh being discharged from duty dishonorably for insubordination and lack of proper decorum. Ily did not ask this to occur but she has a knack for getting people banned or discharge, as was the case with Zakar Jin and his Attache T'Lia from the UFP.
The real Ily, however, is the kind of woman that was simply born to the wrong race, or perhaps not even the wrong race but the wrong time. Beneath her plethora of masks lays a woman who is quite soft, loving, who has high hopes and dreams for herself, most of which she know will never come to fruition. To be married with children is her biggest goal though she feels that the orphans of Cardassia are a wasted resource, that Cardassia could be a much larger force than it already is by training those orphans, integrating them into society to help make Cardassia that much stronger. This has led her to yearn to adopt a series of orphans and bring them under the Tolmak banner. She has a fascination with other races and cultures, devouring information about every species she can and is always on the hunt for more information to better understand their traditions and values, not anywhere near as xenophobic as other Cardassians, let alone her mother who has an absolute hatred for anything Terran, loathing her daughters fascination with Terrans.
She is incredibly loyal to the Union, and everything she does she tries to do it in the name of the Union, though personal proclivities do tend to seemingly clash with what her father tells her is best for the Union, though she believes he is incredibly biased and simply exaggerating. She isn't stupid however and she has ensured that should anything ever go wrong for her she has several avenues to explore should something somehow blow up in her face, or if she pisses off her father enough. Afterall, the Tolmaks do have a history of killing off their own.
There are very few people who have gotten to 'see' the real Ily, and even in sharing that with individuals she is still always wary- you can never know a persons true intentions regardless of how well you think you know them, or how deeply you feel for them. Everyone else wears a mask as well.
Daddy! And the bane of her existence though she loves him dearly as any daughter would. Hates him for having barely been there throughout her childhood, and his most recent escapade into becoming a younger more virile Nemoris which resulted in him disappearing again has her doubting his claims that he was a changed man. Barely knows anything about him, and a datachip he left really left her no further insight into the man aside from who she could run to in times of crisis. She does not feel she can trust him entirely, and given how his own father was to him has a small kernel of fear that he will one day kill her, or attempt to kill her if she displeases him in any way. It doesn't stop her from going out of her way to drive him into an early grave, but it does make her think twice with each step she takes. She also believes he is still a habitual womanizer, despite his claims to the contrary.
Mommy! Ily respects this woman utterly, seeing how loyal she is to her father despite the fact that Nysra should be anything but. The shit the woman has put up with Nemoris, all his near deaths and disappearing acts as well as his relationships with women. She aspires to be like her mother, who is very dedicated to her medical work and quite lovely when she has the perchance to be as much. She does not quite understand her mothers intense hatred for Humans, though does sympathize with the fact that they seem to smell of rancid pork. But a smell is hardly a reason to hate a race entirely.
Ah S'al. Hunky handsome Orion, batshit crazy. Ily adores him however, enjoys his company and rarely does she not find him utterly amusing and engaging. He is a bit scattered for her tastes but despite his inability to ever answer her messages in a timely manner, she forgives him because he's just too amusing to stay mad at. She doesn't often like to engage in business with him, since he seems to have an touch of ADD where he just can't sit still or stay on the topic without veering off elsewhere. Wonderful personality however.
Mister Gilar ....Ily has a typical Cardassian relationship with him, flirting with barbed words and tossing veiled insults his way. She enjoys the fact that her father doesn't like him entirely and has warned her against dating him, which has only spurned her on further to engage in repartee with him, though she doesn't have any firm intentions to actually pursue him in a serious manner. He's fun, but not her type overall. Cute pot belly, however.
Hate is a strong word, but Ily hates this woman. Hates her with a passion. Believes Ashleigh is sleeping with her father and is engaging in a romantic relationship with him. Ashleighs actions when her father became sick did nothing to change her mind on this opinion, and in fact only strengthened her belief that Ashleigh is in love with Nemoris. Ily doesn't need further reason to hate Ashleigh but the fact that she's married to Lucius and seemingly an absent wife from his life enrages her all the more. She is too much like Nemoris, cut from the same cloth. And the fact that the two seem to have ties. Well it certainly doesn't help her.
Poker buddy. Amusing man. Ily enjoys losing latinum to him and he's interesting to talk to. Considers him a brother of sorts given his history with Cardassia, despite it being negative, she respects his family for having adopted a Cardassian into their family. She plans on continuing to talk him into adopting a Cardassian child of his own, but he's busy with his own family life and work. One day though. One day.
Dooomarrrooo. Ily enjoys baiting this pair often, especially Dumaro the man servant or whatever the hell he is of the Harrington Estate. She could hardly care less, all she knows is she enjoys making his life an absolute living hell with her errands of finding hard to find objects on Earth or food items and impossible request she knows he can't possibly fulfill. Upon her introduction to banana custard she hated it and found it foul, and ended up shipping back to Dumaro a case of banana custard she had left to curdle and rot in a series of dizzying paths throughout the galaxy until finally it arrived at the Harrington Residence, nice and ripe for Dumaro's opening. She does nothing to improve the relationship and further incites the mans anger by leading him about his nose, knowing that he has to eventually break to her will in order to please his master. Lucius himself has a lot more respect from Ily than his man servant, and she looks up to him as a mentor when it comes to certain matters, though on other matters she is less inclined to follow his lead. She thinks Lucius is too comfortable in his life and isn't really living at all, just coasting along. She has made it her hobby to arouse him out of his static existence, to question and challenge his viewpoint on the world and show him that there is so much more out there than what he sees. Their relationship was not always so friendly or warm, Lucius in the beginning treated Ily with immense disrespect and disgust, though she has managed to break down those walls and now they enjoy a mutual admiration for each other and their diplomatic methodology.
The few times she's had to engage with him she's enjoyed it, he's easy to get along with which makes diplomatic relations that much easier. The clash of their cultures is amusing, both of them having a few faux pas with each other than have perhaps helped in solidifying their diplomatic relations.
She didn't intend for these two to be banned from the CU and all her installations, but it happened though she's hardly sorry it's happened. After continued displays of disrespect to herself and the Cardassian Union these two were declared banned by her father Nemoris Tolmak, and Lucius Harrington was forced to take over negotiations and relations with the CU as Ily refused to deal with Zakar or his Attache T'Lia. Not that it hasn't likely worked out in everyones' favor, leaving Zakar and T'Lia to enjoy life without the caustic Diplomat Ily haranguing them about their inability to improve relations.
She's not stupid, she knows Zitto hates her father and the feeling is no doubt mutual on her fathers end. It's what drew her to him in the first place, to infuriate her father as she flirted with the Looke, visited with him and enjoyed a highly sexualized relationship though at no point has she engaged in sexual relations with him. He's tried though, but Ily is what is known as a cock tease. Sure, make you think you're gonna get something from her when in reality you're nothing more than a toy that she really does bore of quite quickly. Zitto is one of these people, too pompous and full of himself to really ever be a true romantic interest, though the fact it pisses off her father has her continuously engaging with Luke. She is well aware that Luke is interested in playing this same game with her father, that she too is nothing more than a tool to him, from previous conversation with him as well as his hints that 'it would piss of her father' if he knew what they were up to. Her heart belongs to another however so any chance of a true sexual relationship with Luke is almost nil, she'd never cross that line with him unless absolutely necessary. And seriously, who is sex truly necessary for other than pon farr every seven years for some Vulcan? And Ily ain't no Vulcan. And Looke, well ...he's hot, but c'mon. Not her type at all.
