<<The seal of the United Federation of Planets appears on your screen. The image then fades away to be replaced by a man sitting behind a large mahogany desk. Behind the desk the flags of Starfleet and the United Federation of Planets frames a window which looks out to the skyline of Paris.>>
The man looks at the camera and smiles. He places his hands on top of each other on the mahogany desk and says, "Good evening citizens of the Federation and members of the galactic community. A few days ago the USS Valiance was lost at the hands of a Hirogen attack fleet. The Federation Council has elevated the priority of this threat within Starfleet. Starfleet will strengthen our internal defenses to repel their vessels from our space and will fully assist other governments in their fight against the Hirogen"
He turns toward a second camera as he continues, "We must stand together against the Hirogen. All interested governments who wish to assist with the eradication of this threat should communicate their interest to Secretary of State Henry Rae and Admiral Elizabeth Haynsworth, Deputy Chief of Staff of Operations for Starfleet Command. Starfleet will defend our space lanes and will assist in the defense of others against the Hirogen. The Federation Council will allocate full resources to this initiative."
Turning to the original camera he smiles, "Thank you and good night."
