From the personal logs of Former High Admiral Jonothan Starsmore:

The following is a historical briefing, provided during the last encounter with the Imperium, laying out the timeline of events as they are known from our initial encounters with the Imperium, many years ago.

The Imperium was lured into our space by the Tyrixx Queen known as 'Tessaract', former leader of the Ixx Brood, a type of 'Enforcer' for the then-Cabal of Tyrixx Brood Queens. From what we understand, Tessaract pushed the Imperium into play to weaken our defensive position in our home dimension, as the Tyrixx alone cannot take us by force. The Imperium was being used, like pawns in a glorious game of chess, but they did not know it. They've been played that well.

Tessaract captured the offspring of the leaders of the Imperium, genetically altering them to the point of disfigurement (The exact terms used by Talia Dare, I believe, were 'they came back with tendrils sticking out of their foreheads'. I may be wrong), then returning them to the Imperium with a message: The Ixx Brood has its home here, in the dimension we call home.

Enter Talia Dare and the Seventeenth Expeditionary Force, which most of us are familiar with. She was the scouting fleet, sent here by the Imperium to investigate the claims of the Ixx Brood. I will not recount the grand details of what occuring in the first conflict against the Imperium, but it is safe enough to say that Talia Dare collected the information she needed and sent it off in a log bouy, before being captured and beheaded by Trelesta Rowan, then of the Pryan Coalition.

While the majority of the inhabitants of this dimension slept peacefully, key members of the Genesis Echo Project still investigated into both the Imperium and the Ixx Brood, discovering the details I have recounted previous, as well as others that shall be recounted at the end of this briefing.

  • Point of Interest: From what we understand from captured data, the Imperium have discovered a method of shifting themselves across the dimensional barrier, using stargate technology and 'sinkholes'- weak points in the dimensional barriers. Utilizing this technology, the Imperium has expanded their empire to envelope uncounted other dimensions, enslaving or destroying the civilizations found there.
  • Point of Interest: As many are aware, Tessaract and the Ixx Brood had been 'infesting' Rihannsu internal news networks with Tyrixx propaganda for many months, culminating with the discovering of a transdimensional corridor linking ch'Rihan in our dimension with a Tyrixx-held ch'Rihan in an adjacent dimension.

Enter Slade Wilson and the Fifth Fleet. Intelligence gathered by Trelesta Rowan and the Genesis Echo Project leads us to believe that the Fifth Fleet, in its full capacity, punched through the dimensional barriers at a 'sinkhole' leading into our dimension, a sinkhole at a point some many months away from our 'civilization', even at high warp speeds. What we do know, is that on the journey, the Fifth Fleet was assaulted by an unknown entity, possibly Species 8472, and that their numbers were far reduced, leaving the Fifth Fleet at a far weakened state, and leaving Slade Wilson in command. I would note that even at this weakened state, the Fifth Fleet was able to defeat the combined superpowers of this dimension at numerous points during this campaign.

The Fifth Fleet eventually captured a working Zhrakhadi Stargate, using it's parts in conjunction with their own supplies to create their own supergate in orbit of Sherman's Planet.

  • Point of interest: At the time, the region around Sherman's Planet possessed the only known 'sinkhole' in our sector of the galaxy.

The Fifth Fleet intended on opening this supergate, establishing a supply line back to the Imperium's Home Dimension, allowing resupply and reinforcement. The exact details are still unclear, even in hind-sight, however at the time it was believed that the Fifth Fleet was successful in activating this Stargate, and at that moment unknown parties unleashed a weapon of such destructive force that it not only destroyed subspace in the region of Sherman's Planet to the scale of a sphere of Chaotic Space several hundred PCs in diameter, but it also fed back through the Imperium's Stargate network, to their prime Stargate, and the center of their extra-galactic empire.

This was scouted by Seraphim Tia'a of the Aurellan Holy Assembly, who informed us that the worlds of the Imperium were burning.

Previous events have been attributed to the Seventeenth Expeditionary Force: the first GTI Campaigns; the Fifth Fleet: the second GTI Campaigns. There was a third series of events involving a remnant of the Fifth Fleet. A legion of their engineers managed to escape the final attack against Imperium-controlled Sherman's Planet by sheer luck of the draw; their freighters, at the time transporting the Fifth Fleet's modular starbase installation, simply were not at Sherman's Planet at the time of that final attack.

This engineering legion led a retaliatory campaign against the galactic powers of our dimension, culiminating in the capture of several worlds, including Viltvodle. They were eventually defeated, presumably completely, based on previous reports of the destruction of their homeworlds and the downfall of their extradimensional empire.

Previously, encounters with the Imperium have been driven by three separate motives; The Ixx Brood, Territorial Expansion, and Revenge.

Ixx Brood

As detailed in the historical briefing, the Former Brood Queen Tessaract captured several children of the Imperium's highest ranking officials, altering their genetics (a horrendous crime to the pure-blood Imperium) and sending them back with a message crafted to focus the Imperium on our dimension. The Imperium's initial focus on our dimension was to hunt down the Ixx Brood and presumably destroy it.

  • Point of Interest: Tessaract and the Ixx Brood has since been neutralized as a threat, and the Tyrixx Broods are under the control of a new Queen.

Revenge

As also stated previously, the Seventeenth Expeditionary Force was sent to scout out and hunt down the Ixx Brood. They were defeated, something that rarely happens to the Imperium. Conjecture at the time was that the Fifth Fleet was sent not only to extract vengeance on the Ixx Brood, but also on ourselves as well. Dare was beheaded, after all. Not a pleasant way to go.

Territorial Expansion

At the time, the Fifth Fleet's intent was also expansion. The Imperium had made a program of conquering world after world, dimension after dimension, expanding their territories with no concern for border, either spatial or dimensional.

The following is a list of various points of interest related to the Galactic Terran Imperium, gathered by various intelligence agencies throughout the course of our engagements.

  • Tessaract was the Enforcer of the Enclave of Brood Queens. The Brood Queens would reach a decision, and Tessaract would be the 'wetworks' agent who saw it through. As a result of the then-Enclave's intent for our dimension to join the Broods, Tessaract focused various alien hostiles against us. Her purpose at the time was the weaken us for the Broods.
  • The Imperium, at it's height, was a pan-dimensional superpower, whose territory expanded across several realms of reality. However, they were not omnipotent, as they were previous thwarted, in several dimensions, by other powers. This included, but was not limited to, the Dominion in the Gamma Quadrant, and the Borg in the Delta Quadrant. This was not a universal truth, however, as in some dimensions the Imperium was thwarted, and in others they were the victors.
  • At the time of the encounters with the Fifth Fleet, the Imperium was in the process of constructing a Dyson Sphere in their home dimension. This Dyson Sphere was to be located at the coordinates of Sherman's Planet, which appeared to be a "universal" sinkhole, reappearing in almost every reality. When completed, this Dyson Sphere would serve as a weapons platform for an immense superlaser, which would then be fired through any of the network of Stargates the Imperium had constructed at Sherman's Planet. This would allow them to decimate their opponents at will. It is believed that it was this network of Stargates that lead to the Imperium's destruction when the previously-mentioned superweapon was unleashed.
  • The Liir Colony, formerly under the control of the Tyrixx known as Kae, was also one of Tessaract's targets. The reasoning is believed to be that due to Kae's experiences with the Genesis Echo Project, the Brood Queen Enclave of the time decided to remove the Liir Colony as a threat. As such, Tessaract manipulated both the Imperium and Species 8472 into a three-way war that included the Aurellans charged with protecting the Liir Colony. The Liir Colony was able to escape the conclusion of the conflict, and shift a portion of their numbers to another dimension, and at last reports, the Liir Colony was saved.

As shown through these briefings, the Galactic Terran Imperium was a race of conquerors, stylized after the neo-nazi movements of Earth's late 20th century. They exhibited extreme prejudice against anyone who was not of genetically pure homo sapien stock. They did not come to our dimension for diplomatic relations, even if it was offered as a ploy to the humans of our dimension many times. They did not come for any peaceful reasons. They came to capture Tessaract, and to kill or enslave the 'aliens' and control our worlds.

If the Imperium has returned as has been claimed, then I can only presume that they have since recovered from the superweapon used to decimate the Imperium, and they are back for revenge, as I am relatively sure that there were no other survives from either the first two Imperium Campaigns, or the Remnant.
