Federation Diplomatic Service

The Federation Diplomatic Service, or FDS, is the diplomatic corps of the United Federation of Planets. It is currently directed by the Secretary of State, as appointed by the President of the Federation Council. It maintains embassies and Ambassadors in foreign nations and serves as the channel through which treaties are signed, mediations are arrived at, and wars are averted.
