Prior to the Dominion's closure and transition to an NPC empire in 2000, ATS players were able to play in the Dominion. Players were able to choose to be a Jem'Hadar, or one of the other Dominion races. Players not playing a Jem'Hadar could choose among the following: A civilian, the Tel Canaar, the diplomatic organization of the Dominion, The Pol Kollum, the Dominion's tightly controlled merchant organization, or the dreaded Kae Oleera, Dominion Law Enforcement and Secret police. Players could also be promoted to the Tel Cynar, the powerful ruling body of the Dominion whom executed the will of the Founders and maintained Order within the Dominion.
Of course, once the Dominion was re-organized as an NPC faction, this organizational structure ceased to exist.
The PC Dominion faction was not granted the vast fleets that was seen in Canon Deep Space Nine episodes. Instead the creators of the faction crafted a vast and interesting history that deepened and enriched the story of the Dominion:
The history of the Tel Cynar
The history of the Pol Kollum
All Dominion races are de facto NPC, even those on @race list.
In Mid-2405, most Dominion markets displayed active and open markets. However there were also reports of Dominion vessels attacking Alpha Quadrant vessels. Current situation is unknown.
