The screen fades from a commercial to darkness, a colorful slogan appears on the screen that says: Elect Jonatha Salizar as President of the United Federation of Planets

A voice over announcer is heard, "Live from FNN headquarters in San Francisco, this is a special election announcement from Jonathan Salizar."

The logo fades to reveal a chair sitting in the middle of a stage. The backdrop behind the chair is a blue screen which appears to have a ripple effect in it. As the camera focuses on the individual sitting in the chair the lights in the stuido dim, a spotlight appears on the man.

The man is about 5'10. He is fairly slender for his height which allows you to see the flex of his abdominal and bicep muscles when he moves in a certain way. This officer looks to be fairly young but his body posture portarys a sense of self confidence. His head is covered by dark brown hair, which is neatly groomed and combed over to the right side. His eyes are like dark blue gemstones that absorb the surrounding light. Between this eyes is what could be described as a button nose. His lips are a very dark red but overall subtle.

On his body he is wearing a softly woven dark blue suit jacket of a casual line and form which accentuates his shoulders flatteringly. The jacket follows his torso in a slimming fashion to end below his hips. At his left breast is a discrete pocket in which a crimson hankerchief is neatly folded. Beneath the jacket he wears a black silk shirt with a casual crimson tie around his neck. His legs are covered in black silken slacks, heavier than his shirt.

"Good day. My name is Jonathan Salizar and I am running for President of the United Federation of Planets. The United Federation of Planets represents all that is true and good in our universe. A society where all individuals need not worry about meeting the basic human needs of food, clothing or shelter. We are a model civilization that others look up to and respect as being on the forefront of civilized society. During an election time we can look back at where we have been and where we will go. During this election period we make those observations but also must observe that we are moving nowhere fast."

He leans forward in his chair and looks at the camera, "In Starfleet I was a bit older than most who carried the rank of Ensign, the fleet is a second career. I began my career in government services working in the security field in the department of justice. I later left that position to enlist in Starfleet, to explore the universe, to further my education and to put my talents to work. Within the fleet." He stands from his chair as the camera pans out to show him on a dark stage with the blue screen behind him. He moves to his right, as the spotlight leaves the chair it disappears into the darkness.

"During my enlisted service I was elevated to the rank of Chief Petty Officer. Within a few weeks of promotion I was issued a commission to the rank of Ensign by Fleet Admiral Matthew Nerva so that I could better serve the fleet. My experience before joining Starfleet and after joining is experience that will serve the citizens of the United Federation of Planets well as President. I was later elected to the Federation Council and took on responsibility as the Chief Councilor."

Moving to his left he places his right leg on the support of the chair, he reaches out his hand to the camera, he has a clenched fist and moves his hand to accentuate his point, "Let's use the political environment to benefit our society. I believe that governance should be about the people, about mutual dreams, and about maintaining and improving our society.

"As the Chief Councilor I still remain a proud member of Starfleet. As an officer in Starfleet I have observed a decline in training opportunities available to those within the lower ranks ofthe fleet. The fleet is putting newly enlisted personnel onto very expensive ships without adequate training in their field. Members of Starfleet should be certified in their positions to ensure that they are capable of handling their duty assignments. This is not for a lack of effort from Fleet Command but due to inaction on the part of the sitting government not providing enough support to Starfleet."

"As a Starfleet Officer, prior to my election to the Federation Council, I saw our government sitting on their laurels as Rigel and Gamora continued to grow as a base of operations for pirate activity. As Chief Councilor our government worked with coalition forces to eliminate a prominant base of operations for the pirates."

"As your elected President I will not only represent the interests of fellow members of Starfleet but the interests of the populace as a whole. We are the United Federation of Planets." He pauses his speech allowing for a dramatic pause before he continues.

"As your elected representative I will work with Starfleet to increases the training opportunities available to their personnel. I will direct the Diploamatic Services to launch a multi-empire summit to discuss the increase in pirate activity near Rigel and Gamora and to discuss actions that can be taken to affect a decrease in activity. I will also work with the Diplomatic Service in re-defining relationships with other sovereign empires."

He moves from behind the chair and sits back down as he addresses the camera, "Along with those key issues the government should work to develop better trade relations with our neighbors, increase tourism and cultural activities within our borders and position ourselves as the leader in scientific research and space exploration."

"As your President I will be a force that will help to develop a true agenda for our government which moves them toward action. The citizens of the United Federation of Planets demand and require that our government communicate to them about where we are headed as a civilization. In my term as Chief Councilor the government took steps to improve communication with our citizens."

The image of the man fades away as the images of stars appear on the screen, the mans voice is still hear, "What star are we shooting for... what goals are we looking to achieve? We need a direction that we can all move toward in unity. Lets shake loose of atrophy and move forward together."

The image of the man appears on the screen, "In the upcoming election, your vote for Jonathan Salizar as President and Luke Zitto as Vice President will be the first step that we take together as we move into a prosperous future for the United Federation of Planets. It will be my pleasure to serve you as President of the United Federation of Planets. Thank you for your time." The image of the man slowly fades from the screen as the slogan appears: Elect Jonathan Salizar as President of the United Federation of Planets.
