BAJORAN DECLARATION OF NONAGGRESSION

Preamble.

The history of Bajor has been filled with both sadness and joy, but has always been filled with the light of the Prophet's benevalence. The Prophets, by their example, have shown the people of Bajor the way of peace and tranquility above all other pursuits. Time and again, as Bajor has struggled through adversity, the merits of nonaggression and peaceful dialogue have proven themselves and have been demonstrated by the Prophets, and such are worthy of emulation. To this end, the Bajoran Free Nation seeks to spread the benevolence of the Prophets by expressing a declaration of non-agreession to the peoples of the galaxy and beyond.

Declaration.

The People of Bajor, through the Bajoran Free Nation, with the guidance of the Prophets, willingly choose non-aggression, as well as continued positive dialogue with other sentient beings and their respective governments, to promote peace and tranquility throughout the galaxy.

The Bajoran Free Nation recognizes the sovereignty of individual states, and the fundamental right of political self-determination.

The Bajoran Free Nation recognizes legal equality amongst individual states.

The Bajoran Free Nation does not and will not support the intervention of one state in the internal affairs of any other state.

The Bajoran Free Nation, in desiring to be a moderating and neutral body, invites representatives from the various states of the galaxy to establish embassies within the Free Nation, not only to conduct diplomatic business and establish treaties with the Free Nation, but also to provide a free and neutral area where various ambassadors may meet to conduct diplomatic business and establish treaties with other states.

Expression of Declaration.

At the public notice of this Declaration, this Declaration shall be regarded as in effect.
