OOC Information

I've been an ATS player since near the site's inception, when it was called Future Realms.

Technically speaking, I've only ever played one character on ATS. Although, for about 6mo I changed from Arzon to "Vargus". I thought it was time for a chance, since I had played the Arzon character for around 8-10 years at that point. But, it turns out it's /very/ difficult to turn your back on that much character history and I concocted a little TP that had Vargus as an escaped personality aspect from Arzon. The two were reunited, allowing Arzon to complete a process of telepathy-assisted introspection which resulted in the reclamaition of his memories, pre-Assimilation. So now he's not nearly as much of a cold hardass as he was early on, and has a rather odd sense of humor; which seems to be more of me in the character then there was originally.

<Starfleet Science Debriefing: Analysis of Borg Drone D10X11> *DECLASSIFIED*

Arzon was found in the wreckage of a Scout Sphere by a long-range Federation patrol some thirty-five years ago. An ion storm had disabled a sphere sent to investigate the phenomona, and a single drone of the five drone crew was the lone survivor.

Upon regaining conscousousness, the drone experienced a similar sense of confusion as noted by the recovered drone "Hugh". This particular drone stated its designation as "Two of Five - Primary Subprocessor of Unimatirx 101". An extensive period of time followed where the drone was subjected to numerous tests, and eventually was declassified, and not an emidiate threat to the Federation. It was discovered that this drone had a bit of a lighter chassis then others encountered before, and had a substantially upgraded sensor package. It's optical emitter was capible of multi-dimensional imaging, and the sensor arm appendage carried electronics similar to a class-one deepspace probe. It seemed to be geared to the study of astral phenomona, both within our spacetime, and dimensional anomolies. Later, it was discovered that the drone's base species was El Aurian; that species barly-documented extra-sensory perception of reality may account for the drone's assignment upon assimilation.

Eventually, fragments of the original entity's personality began to surface. The level of mental trauma the individual must have experienced at the time of assimilation and it's time in the Collective must have been extensive. Numerous telepathic probes (Deltan, Vulcan and Betazoid) all faild to penetrate to find the Drone's core personality. The probes did, however, determine that it was a member of the Collective for perhaps three centuries before its ship was disabled, and during the telepathic therapy, the drone... as he put it at the time "Reaquired original assigned designation: Arzon". So, that's what we began calling him.

It... er, Arzon, stayed with us for around eight years. Early on, it was just a test subject and we learned a lot from the close proximity. It's nice to be able to study one without all the "You will be assimilated" nonsense. Sure, it gave us that schpeil in the beginning, but eventually it relaxed. It. Guess it's hard to think of HIM otherwise, even now. I heard recently he petitioned for Federation citizenship, and after a rather lengthy debate, it was granted. It's not like we kept in touch, but, last I heard he had applied to join Starfleet Academy. The little guy was a fighter jock I think. How'd you like to open a Periapse cockpit and see something like THAT comming out at you. Sure give the deckcrew a surprise.
