A Third Marriage

Once Aidoann was free to leave the station, she started trading often, usually with Ian Sturmvogel (whom she initially seemed dislike, to some degree or another) in the FAV Hard Cash. Although Aidoann had previously voiced disgust at the idea of a relationship with a 'yikh', by stardate 80263 it became apparent that Aidoann and Ian had become a couple. On stardate 80435, she accepted his marriage proposal and, despite a relationship that was somewhat rocky at times, they were finally married in a small ceremony on New Risa. Their marriage was announced stardate 80749.8, during a small gathering they held at their home on Jeraddo.

After marrying Ian, Aidoann took to such things as disappearing seemingly randomly and spending most of her free time trading. While not on duty, she could also be seen running around barefoot.

In Trouble Again

During this time, there was a well-publicized incident where she attacked and destroyed a GFA ship that entered Bajoran space after it was warned not to approach. This, subsequently, led to her being confined to the station again for a period of time - after having punched Itasha Pand. While confined to the station, she heard of an auction that was to take place at which was going to be sold several Bajoran antiquities. She obtained the permission of Ithiel Mabrin to attend the auction, provided he accompanied her.

Oooh. Shiny Antiques!

At the auction, Aidoann won 2 of the 3 Bajoran items for sale. After the auction, she managed to persuade the auctioneer, Darvok Gilar to broker a sale between herself and the purchaser of the 3rd item. Having obtained all 3 items, plus a vase that Ian had earlier purchased, Aidoann determined to keep them safe and not let them fall into non-Bajoran hands again.

What's Going on Here?

After some incidents in Bajoran space having to deal with the wormhole, Ian started to get more openly religious and she more or less scoffed, though she was concerned as his behavior also started to get more and more bizarre. She kept most of his behavior a secret, however, not wanting people to know the things he said.

All this came to a head when Ian was showing Ro Antos the antiquities one morning (stardate 81140). With Aidoann in attendance, Ian accidentally dropped his vase and it shattered into fine powder. Exactly what happened next is unclear, even to the three who were there, but what is certain is that Ian and Aidoann immediately began to fight each other for no obvious reason. When they finally came to their senses and quit fighting, they both claimed to have been possessed by what they thought were a Pah-wraith and a Prophet: the Pah-wraith in Ian and the Prophet in Aidoann.

Post Possession

The effect this had on the pair was obvious, but hard to gauge exactly. While Ian felt he had to spend more time in the temple as penance for something he did to make the Pah-wraith possess him, Aidoann became more receptive to thinking of the Prophets as more than just simple beings.

While Ian spoke of how dangerous the remaining artifacts might be and how they should be given to someone else for safe keeping, Aidoann was more concerned that they would become the possession of someone unworthy for them. With continuing to insist and push the issue, Aidoann quietly arranged to have the antiquties she purchased moved out of their apartment.

But They're MINE!

Upon discovering that the antiquities were gone, Ian immediately reported them as stolen. After Aidoann had explained that she moved them somewhere safe, Ian still insisted that they were stolen. Coupled with Ian's recent behavior and her own past, Aidoann became desperately afraid at his accusations and fled to Cardassian space in a transport.

The Bajoran authorities contacted the Cardassians for help in apprehending Aidoann. She was caught and placed in a Cardassian jail for some time, 'unofficially' of course. When the Cardassians finally acknowledged that they had her, her release was arranged by Ithiel Mabrin who released her once they returned to Bajoran space.

Imprisoned?

The next morning, however, she was again arrested - this time by another Bajoran officer whose orders were said to come 'from higher up' than Set'shokut Ithiel. After spending a few days in the Bajoran brig, Aidoann was sent off to a monastery on Bajor. Her friends, and everyone else, however were told that she had been sent to prison; the reason for this difference in stories is unclear.

After approximately four months at the monastery, Aidoann has returned. What changes she's gone through remain to be seen.

Is That Really Aidoann?

Release from the monastery saw a different Aidoann than had left. Cleaning of any sort was now a 'hobby', an obsession really, when before she had been clean but not excessively neat. Her wardrobe also took a change, robes and boots being her now favored choice. Although she could be affectionate at times, she was also quite distant at other times; especially with Ian. Contrasting that, Aidoann has several times expressed a desire for her and Ian to have children, something she had not desired before. In addition, she could also be frequently found in Quark's, drinking Deka tea; a beverage that she had voiced dislike for.

Aidoann finally returned to the Bajoran Defense Force on stardate 81765.065091 with her old rank of Kivas Esid, even though she had previously voiced dislike of the current station commander's, Jir'shokut Krim, actions.

Cardassians and Romulans and Kzinti, Oh My!

Although displeased with the decision for Bajor to aid the Cardassians in recovering Iure Prime after Kzinti and Gorn forces captured it, Aidoann was nevertheless on the BSV Prophesy when it was lost on stardate 81793 while battling Kzinti forces at Iure. As a result of her actions on the Prophesy, Aidoann was promoted to the rank of full Esid.

Despite this, Aidoann still did not like how close the BFN seemed to be getting to the Shiar and Union, though she did get along fairly decently with the hru'Kiith Isneihri t'Aieme. As a result of her disapproval with the involvement, Aidoann did not participate in the subsequent second attempt at recovering Iure.

Irrationality

Soon after his appointment to ambassador once again, Ian suddenly disappears, leaving with Aidoann no clue as to where he's gone (again). She spends the next several months giving various stories as to where he is, depending on who asks, though she's positive he's not dead.

In the mean time, the Orions at Rigel start attacking freighters persistently. An Alliance forms, consisting of the Federation, Klingon Empire, Romulan Empire, Cardassian Union, and Ferengi with tenuous support from the Bajoran Free Nation. When a Bajoran freighter, the BMF Prophets' Tears, is recovered from the Orions, Bajor is catapulted into full support. Aidoann becomes convinced that Ian was on some sort of diplomatic mission in the freighter and gets frantic when the Romulans refuse to release the vessel. There are a few people to whom she confides her fears, but most simply see an erratic and irrational Romulan.

It helps little that, in the midst of the Orion matter, Aidoann comes into possession of a very interesting artifact. Given to her for safekeeping by Ro Antos and given to him by General Gell, the artifact is a prism of sorts. With the ability, if one puts it crudely, to "focus time", Aidoann immediately sees the danger in this and conceals its true nature from everyone, including Ro Antos. When she hears that people have been killed in attempts to obtain the artifact from General Gell (mainly the General himself), she gets extremely paranoid and does her best to hide it as completely as possible. Still worried about Ian, she spends her waking hours commuting between DS9 and the Orion staging area at Gamora.

Ian's Return

Approximately three to four months after she last heard from her husband, Aidoann receives some cryptic messages purporting to be from Ian - on stardate 82397. She responds to them cautiously, not sure if they are a trap, only to discover that the sender was, in fact, Ian. Their meeting is not entirely happy, as Aidoann is upset that he simply disappeared... not to mention the methods that he used to contact her once he was able to do so. Because of things that Ian has seen, the couple go into hiding together. At least, that was the plan.

Destruction of the Eskar

After a brief period of concealment, Aidoann gets word that something has gone wrong at Gamora, aboard the BSV Eskar. Assigned to the Bajoran Science Ministry and under her command, though temporarily in use at Gamora, she views the ship as her own. When nobody will tell her precisely what happened, she evacuates the Eskar and takes it out to just over 1.7 parsecs away before activating self-destruct in an attempt to protect the stations at Gamora.

Unfortunately, things go awry when a nacelle from the Eskar is almost instantly transported over five lightyears away to impact upon the very base she just undocked from, Skyhawk. Facing charges for both the destruction of the ship and for damaging the base, Aidoann is locked in a cell aboard Kelvas Facility, the Cardassian base in the system.

While locked up, she hands over some of her equipment in order to get the Ferengi to leave her alone about the damage to the base. She also attempts to contact various Bajoran personnel, including Ian, to little apparent success. Contact, however, is made with a member of the Romulan Empire: Hilaefve i-Veweil t'Evahni. It is then that she, reluctantly, agrees to return to the Shiar. She spends nearly two weeks in confinement until the Cardassians, more or less, simply throw her off the station.

On the Run Again

Once free from the station, Aidoann is devastated: Ian never came to see her, she's convinced that most Bajorans want her dead or imprisoned for various reasons and, to top it all, she's got her promise to the Shiar. At the suggestion of others, she requests asylum within the Federation to give her time to collect her wits.

She spends some time aboard the Federation vessel USS Valley Forge until being removed when the ship returns to the Gamoran front. While aboard the Valley Forge, she meets with Zakar Jin and ends up tasking him to return her wedding ring to Ian. After leaving the Valley Forge and having been granted asylum within the Federation, she then bides her time at Secretary Lucius Harrington's house, where she is a guest.

With various rumors and things that she knows for certain, she grows anxious about having left the prism back aboard DS9. Having revealed to the Secretary and his then-future wife, Ashleigh O'Dae, some of the nature of the prism, she finally gives an ultimatum: help her or she'll go back and get it alone. Having no response, she tentatively returns to DS9 alone to retrieve the prism. She is successful in that endeavor and Ro Antos flees the station shortly after she leaves. A notice is posted that the man is now wanted and has been stripped of his rank. Aidoann thinks little of this at first, viewing him as having betrayed her while she was locked up aboard Kelvas. Aidoann's punishment for the Eskar incident is then revealed: a fine, a demotion from Major to Captain and being stripped of all command privileges as well as a loss of six months' pay. She gives no response to this.

Her plans to stay low and move the prism from place to place aboard a freighter are interrupted when she receives an urgent message from Ro Antos. Though she still doesn't trust him, she ends up setting off to find him and save him. She is successful, though she ends up losing the BSV Matahourua and, eventually, the BSV Kupe II in the process.
