OOC Stuff

Joined May 23, 2005. Player has been confused several times for a past Aidoann character, but this is not her. She is not her. Uhm... yeah. Anyway...

A bit more than a 'brief outline' now, but I still need to add stuff.

IC Stuff

Personality

Due to her history, Aidoann is what most people consider to be 'extremely paranoid'. She may acknowledge this paranoia, but claims that it's healthy and is what has kept her alive over the years. She may tell you that she'd dearly love to live a 'normal' life, but doesn't see how that's possible. Especially now that she commands the Bajoran Defense Force.

Having spent the past several years trying to keep a low profile, adjusting to being such a visible personality has not been easy on her. Indeed, there are some who view her as now hanging from a very slim thread of sanity.

With a fiery temper and a penchant for acting first and completely considering things later, many may view her as completely erratic and unpredictable. She almost always has a good reason for what she does, however, at least from her point of view. Knowing that many view her as crazy, no matter what she does, doesn't exactly help matters.

Due to her paranoid nature, there are few people she trusts enough to reveal anything to. Her harsh, aloof and generally abrasive exterior is, if one gets to know her, a carefully crafted facade to protect herself. When she is stressed, one may get a chance to see more of what she's really like.

Those who are around her long enough might realize she has a bit of a phobia about doctors, and infirmaries in particular, preferring to leave minor injuries untreated instead of seeing a doctor. Major wounds that she cannot treat herself are the main reason she ever willingly visits a doctor, meaning she practically has to be dragged to physicals, immunizations and the like.

Though she ends up with few real friends this way, she will be extremely loyal to the ones she does manage to make. She'll do nearly anything for those she really cares about and is extremely protective of them. If they fail to show the same sort of loyalties, however, she'll view them as having crossed her and will likely turn on them in kind. Such may not be the best response, but it has kept her alive so far.

Speech

Aidoann usually speaks formally and without contractions like "don't", "shouldn't", etc., though there are times she might use contractions informally. She may also use odd ways of phrasing things and somewhat odd grammar. This is not, usually, as some may think, an OOC mistake but an attempt at portraying a character whose first language is not even a human one. Unfortunately, I'm probably not really good at it. But there it is.

History

Relatives

Aidoann was born November 13, 2359 and was an only child. Her parents, Nniol tr'Lhoell and Thue t'Lhoell were simple, but fairly well off, merchants by the time Aidoann was born, though both had served several years in the Galae prior to settling down. Her parents both had a couple of siblings apiece, so she was not without relatives to play with when growing up.

Both of Aidoann's parents were killed in 2402, during the upheaval when Khren Khau'laehval t'Nai attempted to seize power within the Shiar and had herself proclaimed the Third True Empress.
