*** After tricking Ian aboard the Xerxes and kidnapping him, Aidoann sets off after hearing that people have started looking for him. ***

Quarters <Deck 1> [SS Xerxes]

A grid of corridors extends from here, lined with doors to individual rooms and crew bunk rooms alike. The quarters are simple but well-adorned, with comfortable beds, supple sanitary facilities, and personal workspaces. There are power conduits, obscured deep in the seams of bulkhead walls and the ceiling ventilation systems. Occasionally the flow of high-energy plasma can be seen coursing through transparent mag-field piping.

Ian Sturmvogel is still on the cot, his hands behind his head, but he looks towards the door as it opens. "We're on the move, Aidoann... do I get a cut of your trades?"

Aidoann snorts softly, "I am not on any trade run. At least, not now. We are going to a nice, quiet, part of space. They are looking for you and I simply cannot allow you to be found right now."

Ian Sturmvogel laughs. "I was supposed to meet with Harrington tonight. Did you read the message from two days ago? I was supposed to meet with her today. You planned /everything/ out. Except that."

"Actually, things worked out fine." Aidoann smirks, "I got a Federation escort from Ohespae. And gated at Celestine Gate. I am quite sure that this vessel will not be found."

Ian Sturmvogel half smiles and sighs. "Well, I can't count on them for everything. They /are/ the Federation after all. At least I was smart enough to leave them." Ian pauses. "And no more lies between us, yes? Call me Joshua. I feel like my end is drawing near in any case. I might as well be called by my birth name."

"Joshua?" That request takes Aidoann by obvious surprise and she blinks once, her gaze softening perhaps a little.

Ian Sturmvogel chuckles for a moment. "Certainly I told you. My real name. Remember?"

"Of course I remember." Aidoann replies after a few seconds, "I simply do not recall you ever... /wanting/ me to use it."

Ian Sturmvogel now fully sits up, "Well, like I said. No lies. And I have no idea where I am going, what you are going to do with me, so I might as well give it all up, right?"

Aidoann closes her eyes for perhaps two seconds, though certainly not longer, "We are going to an isolated area of space. To sit. And wait."

"Waiting. It means you are going to hand me off to someone." Ian leans back. "Interesting."

Ian Sturmvogel wipes his nose. "This place is disgusting, Aidoann. If you are to hand me off, make it someplace not as smelly."

"It is a /freighter/, Ia... Joshua. Of course it is not perfectly clean." Aidoann replies with some annoyance in her tone, "And, fvadt, it is the only home I have left right now!"

Ian Sturmvogel looks over the side of the bed, his feet feeling a little wet. he spies something black on the floor. "Do you keep this freighter maintained then? what the heck." Ian looks over as his eye opens wide. "What the hell...."

Ian Sturmvogel looks up at Aidoann. "Did you see that? the black liquid? It just absorbed into the floor."

"Joshua." Aidoann says warningly, "There was no liquid. There was nothing. At all."

SS Xerxes lurches violently.

SS Xerxes drops out of warp.

You say, "Fvadt."

Bridge <Deck 1> [SS Xerxes]

The bridge itself is comprised of several angled bulkheads forming a room shaped like an octagon, to the aft is a slightly raised section with several broad, flat-surfaced consoles that are elegantly curved into arcs extending from the bulkheads, wrapped around attendant build-in seats. The outer casings are a dark gunmetal blue, with crimson tracers around their edges, and multicolored user interfaces on their surfaces. In the center of the room is a single captain's chair covered in readouts and controls that looks fore onto two more consoles in front of the viewscreen. The slightly trapezoidal viewscreen wraps smoothly in an arc along the surface of the forward bulkhead wall. The wide view is outlined in yellow tracers.

Ian Sturmvogel has arrived.

Ian Sturmvogel gets up to the bridge from the crew quarters... "Heresiarch... she is here Aidoann!!!"

The door of the crew quarters buckles inward.

Ian Sturmvogel runs up to an errant panel. Scanning it quickly, he says, "Heresiarch... is a machine... which means... dammit. Can we do an EMP Pulse?"

Ian Sturmvogel begins looking over the consoles... "Dammit... " He trys reconfiguring the engineering settings....

Slowly, from where it buckled, the door fades in color, perhaps aging or oxidizing, eventually becoming black.

Aidoann pushes Ian away from the console and towards the escape pods, "Go. Now! Fvadt."

Escape Pods <Deck 1> [SS Xerxes]

The escape pods are cramped, with minimal controls and readouts indicating life support. The walls are all thickly padded for absorbing impact. The tightly packed rows of seats include impact harnesses. There is a pull-handle mounted in a recessed cavity with a glowing EJECT label beneath it.

"What, /again/?" Aidoann questions, sounding both saddened and annoyed.

Ian Sturmvogel grits his teeth... Ian seems to be reaching past Aidoann, attempting to reach the lever that says, "Emergency Egress"

"Are you /trying/ to kill us?" Aidoann blinks in surprise, moving to try to stop Ian.

Ian Sturmvogel points down... "Look! Look at my feet!" Ian points down to his perfectly normal feet.

"Please, sit down." Aidoann says, though it's more of a demand than a request. Small pod and Ian's apparently got suicidal thoughts. "Sit down." <ES|Escape Pod> Escape Pod beacon activated at -9349.285 -262.844 -140.644.

Ian Sturmvogel takes a seat, gripping the seat tightly... "Heresiarch... is here... with us."

"If you say so." Aidoann says with a sigh, shoulders slumping, "But there is nothing we can do right now. If you kill us both, they will recover our bodies. And Heresiarch. And they will not know. The best thing to do /now/ is to try to stay alive."

"... when they transport us, whoever it is, you MUST have them analyse the transport buffers... and destroy the pod. We cannot let Heresiarch back into civilization." Ian closes his remaining eye... "I still feel her... when she was destroyed on Qvarne IV, she dispersed as if made of liquid. She splashed on my ground, over my feet... I feel it, even now."

"Everything will be fine." Aidoann says, sounding anything but confident. Sighing again, she adjusts the setting of her hand phaser.

Ian Sturmvogel watches Aidoann as she adjusts her phaser. "Watch where you point that damned thing."

"If I were going to kill you /right now/, do you think you would even be in this pod?" Aidoann questions, loosly holding the phaser at ready in her lap.

Airlock [ARC Dynamic Symmetry]

There is a large mechanized structure built into the bulkhead wall here, serving as a joining-point with which to dock the craft to other facilities. It houses a fair amount of atmospheric equalization machinery, magnetic clamps, field generators and pressure seals. The control console on the bulkhead next to it consists of a small green screen and colored keypad. There is a power conduit, obscured deep in the seam of the bulkhead wall and the ceiling ventilation system. Occasionally the flow of high-energy plasma can be seen coursing through transparent mag-field piping.

The hum of shielding resonates around Airlock.

ARC Dynamic Symmetry shifts into warp.

Ian Sturmvogel looks around. "Perfect." He walks over to the commpanel...

Aidoann glances around. Well, at least they weren't greeted with phaser wielding commandos or something. She keeps her phaser down, but still ready. Just in case.

[Bridge Intercom]--[T'val says, "Doing so now. What happened?"]

Ian Sturmvogel accesses a security panel.

[Airlock Intercom]--[Ian Sturmvogel says, "I'll tell you everything... but my 'guest' here needs to be dropped off at the nearest convienient neutral port. I'll join you on the bridge once that has been done."]

Ian Sturmvogel turns his head to Aidoann. "How much for the ship."

[Bridge Intercom]--[T'val says, "As you are doubtlessly aware. We are quite some distance from the nearest neutral port."]

Seeing no immediate threat, Aidoann slowly sinks to a sitting position, cradling her phaser in her lap, and starts to cry softly. Ian's question gets no response from her.

<AQ|ARC Dynamic Symmetry|-5000 1 2250> T'val says, "I have retrieved the pods, Starfleet."

Ian Sturmvogel arches an eyebrow and pauses for a moment, staring at Aidoann. He goes back to the intercom.

<DQ|USS Akropolis|7438 -5366 113> Bishop says, "Thank ya, Dynamic Symmetry. Would ya sah 'oo is on board?"

<AQ|ARC Dynamic Symmetry|-4998 6 2248> T'val says, "I am unaware of your threshold for 'ok'. Internal scanners indicate that both shall survive."

Ian Sturmvogel accesses a security panel.

[Airlock Intercom]--[Ian Sturmvogel says, "T'val... I have /no/ idea where I am. It is a long story, but I shan't elaborate now."]

Ian Sturmvogel turns back to Aidoann... "Stop it, just stop it. I'm letting you go. You are free now."

"You brought it on me. How do you know? How can I know? As far as I could tell, the vessel was clean." Aidoann replies softly, obviously rather distraught as the tears continue to flow.

Ian Sturmvogel sighs, exasperated. "No one knew. But, luckily for me, it happened, before you could do whatever it was you were going to do to me. But, I am going to do even worse to you. I am going to let you live, go on your own way. But not before paying you for a ship. Will one million in gold pressed latinum do?"

"I was not going to kill you." Aidoann confesses, looking down at her lap, "By the Elements, I was... I wanted to scare you. Because of things like this. Fvadt, just being near you... Things go wrong, horribly wrong."

Ian Sturmvogel looks at Aidoann sternly, pointing his finger. "Then when this ship lands where... just walk away, leave me alone. Go away. Period. I never want to see you again, Aidoann. I'll never again call you Pythia... I'll never again even call you."

"You are a conduit for /evil/, can you not see that? What is it about you? Why?" Aidoann questions, angrily mad, "I wanted to make you see. The artifacts... the vase... and now /this/. More than anything, this. This... It follows you. It will consume you. Can you not see that?! And you do the same things. The same things that bring the evil. Fvadt!"

Ian Sturmvogel folds his arms. "And you do not listen. Leftenant Harrington just kicked my ass, trying to tell me that individuals matter. And... guess what? I am learning." Ian kneels down, "I am /learning./ I wish that someday I would do something... just one thing that would make you proud! But for now, all you do is do this scaring... all of this." Ian stands. "So, whatever. But I will not trap you, kidnap you, as you have done with me. I will leave you with yourself."

"I /was/ proud of you. When you were an ambassador, when I was not lonely, I was proud that you were such a good ambassador. When you came back from Bajor? I was angry as anything that you had just gone and left without a word. But I /was/ proud that you were able to help..." Aidoann closes her eyes for a moment, "But what I have thought, it has never been enough."

[Bridge Intercom]--[T'val says, "Your romantic destination awaits. We will be planetside within one minute."]

ARC Dynamic Symmetry drops out of warp.

The ARC Dynamic Symmetry settles onto its landing pad.

ARC Dynamic Symmetry's Airlock/Hatch connects to Old Risa's Port 1-2.

[Bridge Intercom]--[T'val says, "You are cleared for departure."]

Ian Sturmvogel accesses a security panel.

[Airlock Intercom]--[Ian Sturmvogel says, "I shall be joining you back at Hara Cat base. Thank you again T'val."]

The hum of shielding no longer resonates around Airlock.

Ian Sturmvogel turns back to Aidoann. "Come on, let's go. Enough of this bullshit."

With a sigh, Aidoann gets to her feet and heads out of the airlock.

[Bridge Intercom]--[T'val says, "It is what the Hara Cats do, rescue those in distress, is it not?"]

City Starport Complex <Unity City> [Old Risa]

The silver spire-city is a massive structure. It is a tower, ten kilometers in diameter at its base, rapidly narrowing in radius along a hyperbolic curve as it grows upward into a spike, over ten kilometers tall. The outer surface glistens of mirror-finished silver metal plates, pitted with a great many windows and access ports, including several mammoth docking bays. Long antennae spike its surface like flora, the largest and longest at the very top, their tips marked in flashing red lights.

=[=]======================================================================[=]=

The hangar facility is flat and wide, with large mechanical service appendages mounted in the walls. The deck is cordoned off into regularly arranged circles of pulsing crimson, with target-crosses in their centers for craft to land upon. Down the launch path is a pair of broad yellow stripes in the floor, pulses travelling along them indicating the direction of launching or arriving craft, passing through the hangar. There are power conduits, obscured deep in the seams of bulkhead walls and the ceiling ventilation systems. Occasionally the flow of high-energy plasma can be seen coursing through transparent mag-field piping.
