Quark's Bar <3-North> [BSB Deep Space 9 <DS9>]
The double doors slide open from the Promenade, offering the first view of the most infamous local in the Bajoran sector. The splendor of Quarks, however, has not diminished since when it first opened its doors. With the sharp architecture of the Cardassians and the minute touches of the Ferengi and Bajoran owners having each added their own unique touches.
The angles of the supports and structures are all sharp, dressed in metals of muted orange, black, brown, and other such Cardassian hues. There are some banners and other decorative features about, but very little. After all, few come here for the sights. Tables are set about, almost sporadically. Each one is black and metal, situated with a random number of cushioned seats. Both chairs and steel are designed to be both comfortable, and perhaps most importantly stain resistant.
Off to one side are several Dabo tables and when they are in operation, the cries of "DABO!" can oft be heard, trying to cut into the noise of the crowds that might find their way here. There is also a dart board off to the side, its surface riddled with small points.
And, of course, there is the bar itself. Situated right next to the double doors, it takes up nearly the entire wall. Its a deep red polished wood top, with darker swirls within its shiny surface. Behind the bar is the varied assortment of bottles of alcohol, and other knickknacks for sale. A replicator is there, for the mundane orders.

S'vol nods "Can't say that I am familier with your ex-wife, but if you say she is not the issue, then you must look deeper"
Ian Sturmvogel smiles and nods. "You hit the nail on the head, Mr. S'vol. And the best way to start is with Hewn-Bentley. I also heard that there was an ion storm a few weeks ago... on Organia. He was somehow there at that time too... the man seems obsessed with salvage, and had salvaged something from a ship there as well." Ian shakes his head, "Interesting man."
S'vol nods and grins at the last comment "As you say. I've only met him in passing out at Ankara. He was delivering supplies to the Klingons"
Ian Sturmvogel arches an eyebrow and remarks, "How interesting... is that the second time I've seen you smile? A Vulcan?"
S'vol shrugs a bit "Only half Vulcan. I never did aquire my father's control over emotion. Guess I take after my mother's people too much."
Ian Sturmvogel nods. "Human, I am guessing?"
S'vol shakes his head "Betazoid. The eyes usually give it away. I suppose if my mother had been human, I would have had an easier time following the teachings of Surak." He pauses a moment "Unfortunatly as you have noticed, they elude my comprehension completely"
S'vol sips some of his Rihannsu Tea.
Sharia arrives from the ]O[ Lower Promenade door, which then quietly closes behind her.
Sharia has arrived.
S'vol is sitting at the bar talking to the barefooted guy
Ian Sturmvogel relaxes in his chair, his eye going wide for a minute. "Ah, Betazoid... An interesting background indeed. I wonder how your father took to the nude wedding ceremony?"
S'vol laughs "Ahh...He didn't. He was unaware of my existance until I reached my teenage years to be honest. Bit of a surprise you might say when he received the call from my mother asking for advice on dealing with teenage vulcans"
Sharia moves further into the room, stopping at the bar to order some tea.
Sharia summons a waitress.
Sharia's waitress arrives and says, "Order of Perelian Ginger Tea. I will be right back with that," and then leaves.
Sharia's waitress returns with her Perelian Ginger Tea, says "There you are," and then leaves.
S'vol sips some of his Rihannsu Tea.
Ian Sturmvogel shudders to think of that possibility of a teenage vulcan trying to undergo pon farr. "My goodness..." Ian turns, hearing a voice. "Ah, Dr. Jin... hello once again. Is the Valley Forge at DS9 as well?"
Sharia turns and smiles at Ian and shakes her head, "No. I came here to talk to Zakar about a few things before I leave the quadrant again." Once the tea arrives she smiles and nods to the waitress, "Thank you."
Ian Sturmvogel arches an eyebrow. "Aha, going back out on escort patrol in the Delta Quadrant? Things are heating up for certain out there, but we have a new pilot with the Hara Cats... a cold customer, she is. T'val, of the Dynamic Symmetry."
Sharia nods slowly, "A number of us are headed out on a long range scouting mission."
Ian Sturmvogel turns to S'vol, and then back to Sharia. "Ah really? Sounds interesting... Starfleet getting back to the old exploration that they used to do. This is a good thing."
S'vol says, "could be. I've already spent many hours on extended patrol on the fringes"
Ian Sturmvogel turns back to S'vol... "If I may ask... what do they think is out there? Or just a mapping mission?"
Sharia sips some of her Perelian Ginger Tea.
S'vol says, "primarily mapping, but I doubt anyone would be upset if we located the source of the Hirogen or Borg threats"
Ian Sturmvogel laughs. "/and/ is more like it." And then more seriously, " I have a theory... they are working together. I've heard stories from my Hara Cats, I've seen it myself. We'll be fighting one ship, then the other comes rushing in to attack us... not the other. It's eerie."
S'vol nods in agreement
Ian Sturmvogel looks down at his padd... "I am getting an Escape Pod notification..."
S'vol says, "while I can understand the Hirogen not attacking the Borg, I don't understand the Borg ignoring the Hirogen ships at all. And they don't seem ben on assimilation either, purely destruction of in-flight assets"
Ian Sturmvogel nods. "It is very strange indeed. Has anyone discussed this within Starfleet?"
S'vol nods "I've heard discussions, but no good theorys"
From Quark's Balcony <2-North>, Arkham arrives from the /O\ Upper Promenade North door, which then quietly closes behind him.
From Quark's Balcony <2-North>, Arkham has arrived.
From Quark's Balcony <2-North>, A chattering Bajoran passes by on his way to a door.
Ian Sturmvogel bites his lip for a moment. "Mr. S'vol. If I may ask... who is the captain of the Avanguard? What I mean to say is... I have a vested interest in finding the source of these attacks." Ian turns to Sharia. "I have nothing left for me here... the Hara Cats are all I have, and fighting the Hirogen and Borg are part of that. I have vessels that can cloak, and a solid crew with a good record. I would like to speak to your group captain, see if there is room for another ship on your scouting mission."
S'vol says, "Captain Logan is currently in command of our Battle Group"
Ian Sturmvogel nods. "Perhaps I will shoot him a letter. If the Borg and Hirogen are indeed in the same boat here... and if there is a base... then finding that base would be a priority for the Cats as well."
From Quark's Balcony <2-North>, Arkham steps onto the balcony and glances over the railing at all the customer's below, he makes his way quickly and confidently from the balcony down the stairs.
S'vol sips some of his Rihannsu Tea.
From Quark's Balcony <2-North>, Arkham leaves through the /D\ Quark's Bar exit.
Arkham arrives from the /U\ Balcony exit.
From Quark's Balcony <2-North>, Arkham has left.
Arkham has arrived.
The Celestial Temple comes into view as the station rotates.
Ian Sturmvogel turns his head as Arkham comes down the stairs.... "Ah... I am thinking perhaps I overstayed my welcome." He turns to Arkham. "I know, my apologies... I know I shouldn't be here, I am just drinking with my friends. Will that be a problem?" Ian immediately turns around to order a drink.
You summon a waitress.
Ian Sturmvogel's waitress arrives and says, "Order of Armagnac. I will be right back with that," and then leaves.
Ian Sturmvogel's waitress returns with his Armagnac, says "There you are," and then leaves.
Arkham glances over as the man adresses him and gives no indication whatsoever that he has no idea what the man is referring to, gotta read thoose interdepartmental memos more often he thinks to himself "Until I see a reasons to the contrary" he pauses briefly looking the man over "Feel free" he gives a weak smile as he isn't sure of his response but makes his way to the back windows and observes some of the traffic coming and going from the station
Ian Sturmvogel nods, and takes a sip of his drink... "Mr. Arkham, thank you for leniency. I promise I will be on my way soon."
You sip some of your Armagnac.
Arkham nods quietly with perhaps a slight inquizitive look on his face finally showing through.
Ian Sturmvogel turns to Arkham. "I... renoucned my Bajoran citizenship. I am now in the Delta Quadrant fighting Borg and Hirogen with my own group, the Fighting Hara Cats."
Arkham nods quietly "...And your wife has resigned her commission..." he turns from the window and looks at him once more "Why would you not be welcome on the station, people from across the galaxy are welcome here it is the strength of our neutrality.."
Sharia looks at her beeping padd. "If you will excuse me, I have something I need to take care of. I'll go back to the hotel. S'vol, when I return we'll need to head back to Ankara."
S'vol nods "OK Shar. I'll hang around here until you are ready to leave"
Sharia leaves through the ]O[ Lower Promenade door.
Sharia has left.
S'vol leaves through the ]O[ Lower Promenade door.

S'vol's waitress clears his glasses.
S'vol arrives from the ]O[ Lower Promenade door, which then quietly closes behind him.
S'vol has arrived.
Sharia's waitress leaves.
S'vol's waitress leaves.
Arkham accesses a security panel.
S'vol sits at Beverage Bar.
Ian Sturmvogel nods. "But as a fighting man on the front lines... an ex-Bajoran, almost tossed out by the First Minister himself... I know when I have worn out my welcome."
S'vol summons a waitress.
S'vol's waitress arrives and says, "Order of Rihannsu Tea. I will be right back with that," and then leaves.
S'vol's waitress returns with his Rihannsu Tea, says "There you are," and then leaves.
Arkham nods once, stoutly "I'm aware of the complexities, but there's nothing wrong with a sip of Armngac among friends" his posture is calm and relaxed, there is no sense of hostility or anger in arkham at all.
Zakar arrives from the ]O[ Lower Promenade door, which then quietly closes behind him.
Zakar has arrived.
Ian Sturmvogel is sitting at the bar, having a drink with S'vol. Ian's demeanor seems happy on the outside.
Arkham is standing near the windows observing traffic outside the station casually and speaking to Ian
S'vol smiles a bit and says without turning "Hiya Zak"
Zakar glides into the room with a soft whir of his antigrav unit. He pauses for a moment to glance casually around the room. Then he hears, and probably senses, S'vol's greeting. A fond smile touches his lips and he heads toward the man. "Hello, S'vol. I wasn't expecting to see you here, but it's a good thing."
Ian Sturmvogel smiles. "Mr. Jin, good evening." Ian raises his glass, cheerily, thinking that his mental blocks are actually working.
S'vol smiles "You know me, I won't leave until your sister does. Especially seeing as it was her idea to come over and chat with you"
Zakar bows his head in Ian's direction and winces for an instant, probably too quickly for others to see unless they are watching him very closely, and then masks the reaction with a friendly expression. "Hello, Mr. Sturmvogel!" He greets.
Ian Sturmvogel smiles and nods. "Mr. Jin, good day. A pleasure to see you once more... I was actually going to come to talk to you... about this Hewn-Bentley character. Not very bloody good of him to take something from the Shiar, espcially when told over subspace to back off."
The friendly expression fades somewhat at the mention of hammer and the incident over the ehkifv's ship and body. "I tried. I insisted that we should secure the ship on Ankara until the Shiar could send someone to claim it. Above all, I wanted to ensure that it, and she, were protected from any further harm."
A field of white, going on into infinity, hazy like a dream, appears before you. There is nothing but the rhythmic sound of your own heartbeat, or perhaps that of another. Minutes pass, and despite your will to call out, something stops you. A form appears, white, but dark in the ivory expanse, her hair golden, irradiating. "Ian..." she seems to whisper but it fills you to your core, like a scream, surrounding you, engulfing you. Then the bar again, and only the briefest part of a moment has past.
Ian Sturmvogel opens his eye wide, as if agape, looking at something in front of him... he sighs gently... "Whaaaaaaaa........" Ian stands as if trying to engulf, to udnerstand something.... "Mithras...." He stumbles for a moment, pressed back on the bar, as if something is pushing him back... and then it's over. "What... what?" Ian looks at his surroundings, trying to understand them, puzzled. "What the hell...."
S'vol raises a brow
Arkham turns at the commotion eyeing the man sternly for a moment before rushing to his side he slams a MedPac down on the bar with a metallic clunk and immediatly grabs for his tricorder "Mr. Sturmvogel?" he places his hand on Ian's shoulder to help steady the man
Zakar gives s'vol a glance and then rushes toward where Ian is trying remain standing against the bar. "Mr. Sturmvogel, perhaps you should sit down at a table while you ... steady yourself."
Ian Sturmvogel shakes his head... "What the hell was that... did you see that?" Ian looks around, "Any of you?"
S'vol pauses a moment and steps back a pace before giving Ian a glance "No, but obviously you experienced something."
Arkham looks to Zakar and the others in the room cautiously as he opens his tricorder and begins scanning his Lifesigns
Zakar nods with slow solemnity to Ian. "In a way, yes," he says quietly.
Ian Sturmvogel stands upright, looking around, his hand grasping at the bar... "Indeed I did... a white field... someone... calling my name... I couldn't see..."
Arkham examines the tricorder, again glancing at the individuals in the room suspiciously "Heartrate, Blood Pressure, Dopamine, Seratonin levels, increased parasympathetic CNS action..." Dr. Arkham taps his device curiously and looks into Ian's eyes for dilation "It's as if you've just experienced a traumatic event.." he motions for Ian to sit down on a bar stool
Zakar frowns and shakes his head. His face shows signs of frustration and pain. "Please, Mr. Sturmvogel, you should sit in a place where you're less likely to fall if ... this happens again."
Ian Sturmvogel sighs, breathing deep and low, taking a seat. "I'm fine gentlemen... that was just... unexpected. I... I don't know what that was. At all." Ian turns to Zakar... "I experienced something real... I..." Ian shakes his head. "I don't know what that was but..."
"I know. It was ... too real," Zakar agrees. "I also recognize some of it. Perhaps we should talk."
S'vol raises a brow and keeps a bit of distance as if he is trying to avoid contact with the distressed man
Ian Sturmvogel turns to Zakar, puzzled... "Recognize it? What do you mean Zakar?" Ian stands once more, as if ready to follow him. ian seems more in-control and aware of his surroundings now.
S'vol looks over at Zakar
Again, a field of white, going on into infinity, hazy like a dream, appears before you. There is nothing but the rhythmic sound of your own heartbeat, or perhaps that of another. The female form is still there, but closer, her eyes shining a deep green, going on, like the expanse, forever. "Ian, wake up." she says, audible. And, like before, you return to Quark's, as though you were never gone.
Ian Sturmvogel opens his eye wide again... he gasps for air once more, as if determined to stay focused on it, determined not to let go... he inhales deeply, and then lets go, his eye closed, and Ian falls, kneeling, onto the ground. "Again.... am I sleeping?"
Arkham looks over to Zakar "We need to move him to the infirmary..." he eyes Ian, helping him stay balanced with his hand moving from his shoulder down to his arm "We need to get his heartrate down or he could have a heart attack"
"No, dammit, I'm fine!" Ian says, trying to hold on to his memory. "Green eyes. She had green eyes."
S'vol nods to Arkham and sighs a bit before radching down to offer a hand to help Ian up.
Ian Sturmvogel stands up from where he is kneeling, with the help of S'vol and Arkham. "It's Adell... something about Adell."
S'vol nods to Zakar before asking Ian "Who is Adell?"
"Ian, please wake up," comes the voice, but you never left.
Ian Sturmvogel turns around, hearing the voice again... "I am awake..."
Ian Sturmvogel turns around again. "Adell... I am here...." He is looking around the bar for a glimpse of her.
Zakar moves toward a nearby empty table. "She is a Bajoran doctor, S'vol."
Ian Sturmvogel turns back to Zakar, "Zakar... I need someone to take me to Qvarne, Adell may be in danger."
Ian Sturmvogel stands from Beverage Bar.
"Ian..." calls the voice.
Ian Sturmvogel turns again, "Adell?? I am here... I can hear you..."
Zakar pauses and looks at Ian. He needs only a glance to understand. He nods. "Very well," he says. "We'll take the next available transport."
Ian Sturmvogel nods. "Indeed, we must make haste, Mr. Jin... we can talk on the way there." Ian is looking very on-edge.
Arkham glances back at Zakar "I don't know if there is much I can do to sort through this, it seems to me that you would have more success in understanding his problem as a betazoid than I would as a Doctor" Arkham sighs letting the tricorder fall to his side "I would prefer to take this out of Quark's however, someplace less public, perhaps the infirmary, or if he would prefer, the Temple?" these readings are disturbing and dangerous but as long as he stays lucid.." Ian speaks as if talking to thin air "..i'm not going to...." he pauses searching for the correct neutral term "I have no desire to sedate him, I will let this play out so long as your health isn't compromised..." he watches as Ian speaks out again "Will you wear a biometric monitor Mr. Sturmvogel?" he smiles warmly "I don't need you having a giant M.I on my watch..."
S'vol nods "I suppose I should accompany the two of you just in case you encounter difficulties."
Ian Sturmvogel turns to Arkham.... "Indeed... Let me wear the monitor... it will help me in analysing my state." Ian seems focused on the door, but tied to his sense of reality, as if he is questioning a bit of it, wondering if he is really asleep. He turns to Zakar and S'vol... "If this is a dream, I'll need compatriots to help me through this."
Ian Sturmvogel turns to Arkham. "Doctor, do your duties allow you to come with as well?"
Zakar looks at Ian once more. "I will help you as much as I can, Ian. You know that." He nods toward Arkham and then s'vol. "It is your choice. If we go to Qvarne, I would ask both of these men to go with us in case you fall."
Arkham shakes his head "I will need clearance to take a leave to go with you, however being CMO and XO of the station does allow me some leway in my actions" he pauses in thought for a moment "I will apply the monitor and direct a constant subspace link with you as long as I can. And if possible, join you on Qvarne in due time once I speak with the Colonel."
Ian Sturmvogel nods. "Thank you, Doctor... I appreciate everything if I don't see you." He turns back to S'vol and Zakar. "Genetlemen, once more the Federation to the rescue? It appears like it... onward to Qvarne then..."
S'vol nods "I'll go summon a transport

Zakar nods to s'vol. "I haven't been there in some time. It is an ... interesting place. Starfleet's motto is 'Join the Fleet, see the galaxy.'"
Ian Sturmvogel looks to both Zakar and S'vol. "I thank you both for coming with me. This is a.. strange experience... and I better tell you both what had happened."
S'vol finds a seat and leans back to listen
Ian Sturmvogel sighs, "And that's everything that happened."
Messier Starport North <Burrough 08> [Qvarne IV] A wide, open facility, this starport is large enough to handle the most immense ships. Hexagonal, glossy black panels interlock with one another to form the flooring here, each corner bolted securely. An archway, three kilometers wide, stands to the north, allowing for the passage of vessels. The ceiling is even more immense, sloping gently with the parabolic curve of the spire city, constructed of transparisteel and through which sunlight filters. The gargantuan interior walls are filled with viewports and observation balconies at the various street levels, where interested passersby may watch the day-to-day operations of the shipyard. Teal banners hang from the east and west walls, each with a golden Myrati emblem at their base.

Ian Sturmvogel looks around at the empty location... "This seems... really odd, gentlemen."
Zakar emerges from the Transport and moves to where Ian has stopped. "Where do we go from here, Ian?" he asks quietly.
Ian Sturmvogel looks around... "Well, she was supposed to be on Aethermourne.... but.... there is no one here... no one around at all."
There is a brilliant flash and the starport is busy, extremely busy, dozens of freighters and tradesmen doing business. Passenger transports moving in and out, tour groups being collected near the various exits.
S'vol blinks "ok..."
Ian Sturmvogel looks around.... "What the hell..." Ian is in the middle of a crowd all of a sudden... "Ok, so I wasn't the only one this time?"
S'vol looks over to Zakar "Shared hallucination?"
Zakar looks around the suddenly busy area. He takes a slow breath. "That's possible. S'vol? Do you have a tricorder?
Ian Sturmvogel turns back to Zakar and S'vol. "Gentlemen... I agree this is a strange incident... but I really fear that Balar Adell may be in danger. I think we should move on to Aethermourne."
S'vol shakes his head "Sorry Zak, Not something I normally carry around. I havn't been in Science since before I was at the Academy"
Zakar nods to S'vol. "What do you have?"
Prosper Dockmaster says, "Qvarne Fast Transport #7 now in service." to nobody in particular.
Ian Sturmvogel turns his head. "The Transport to Aethermourne just arrived... maybe let's just go."
S'vol says, "Just my padd. We traveled light from Ankara last night"
S'vol nods to Ian "Alright"

Ian Sturmvogel turns his head. "Two visions... the first of a figure with blonde hair, calling out my name, in a vast field of white... the second... of the same woman, green eyes, calling for me to wake up. It was quite intense of an experience."
Zakar frowns at the question and shakes his head. "You forget the white tiger, Ian. I believe that it is important. I recognized it."

This landing facility is very large and laid out efficiently, easily ten decks tall and a kilometer square. Lighting panels are built into the dozens of cobalt support arches that run the length of the room, spreading even lighting upon the whole facility. The flooring is glossy obsidian, constructed of interlocking, hexagonal panels polished to precision. Landing areas of various size have been sectioned off by teal strips and each station is equipped with engineering and refueling supplies. Along the interior bulkhead are several doors every several meters, leading into the attached corridor.

Kallistos lounges on a stack of crates, reading a glossy magazine.
Ian Sturmvogel walks out... "Tiger?" he says to Zakar, but is greated by seeing two individuals upon landing.
Kallistos
She has a petite frame, her body svelte and comely. Her bright red hair is straightened expertly, curving inward against her jawline. Her eyes are too dark for human standards, easily identifying her as a Betazoid. They appear to be filled with a natural empathy and are embellished by the hint of future laugh lines. Her lips are full and pink, regularly parting in a friendly smile that exposes her perfect, alabaster teeth.
Over her body she wears a uniform whose most discerning feature is its pale gray color. The upper portion of the uniform is a form-fitting, wrap-around jacket, with chrome clasps along the right. It is pleated down her chest and cinched at her waist by a simple, black leather belt with a silver buckle. A starched collar with a square-cut opening in the front stands around her neck, embellished with violet piping.
The upper portion of her slacks is hidden beneath her jacket, which trails down just below her buttocks. The slacks are as pale gray as the jacket and contour to the shape of her legs. Violet piping runs down the hem of both pant-legs. The pants have been tucked into a pair of knee-high, tight-fitting and heavily-polished combat boots with thick soles and reinforced toes. The sound they produce when she moves is a dull thump.
The only visible insignia on the uniform is the communicator worn over her left breast.
Inventory: = A PADD is carried within her cloak. = A Communicator (21540) is built into her chest armor.
She is charming.
Tenia Demask sits on a lone crate beside Eve's stack, painting her fingernails.
Tenia Demask
Standing under one-point-five meters, this young woman is physically built for her typically reserved state. Her skin is a soft, pinkish-grey, and her wide, almost parabolic neck reveals dermal scales. Her forehead is bordered by ridges that split and surround her eyes. A ridge also adorns her nose, leading up to tear-dropped indentation on her forehead, the interior of which a shade of seagreen. She has deep, black hair that seems rigid and unyielding, although she has it done into an elaborate bun. Her eyes are wide, baring irises of a soft green-gray.

Zakar is first to emerge from the tramsport. He enters the new area cautiously so that he won't run into anyone. Once he stops, however, he partially closes his eyes to focus on his other sense.
S'vol steps out following Zakar and glances about quickly.
Ian Sturmvogel takes a step out and looks around, cautiously as well. He spies two women near/lounging about a stack of crates.
Zakar looks over his shoulder toward the hatch and answers Ian's question. "Tiger," he repeats, "Or that's how she has appeared in the past, if it's the same person. A past commander of the station met her. He knew her in that form. I met her in a human guise."
S'vol says, "She's appeared to others, Zak?"
Ian Sturmvogel turns, "Who is 'She?' Hymn?"
Zakar nods to Ian, "That is her name according to the records that I've been able to unearth."
Ian Sturmvogel shakes his head. "You say you saw a Tiger... I saw a woman, blonde hair green eyes... I am sure that is Adell."
Zakar frowns and closes his eyes fully to consider. "Perhaps that is a memory from another experience. However, I've seen the doctor a few times on DS9. You are probably correct that she is the woman."
Tenia Demask looks up from painting her nails toward the group of men, raising a brow ridge.
Kallistos folds down a corner of her magazine to take in the same sight.
Ian Sturmvogel takes a few steps forward, noting that Eve and Tenia have noticed them. "Excuse me," Ian says... "I received word that Balar Adell is recovering here from Madam Delukansi... I would like to vist her, if possible."
Tenia Demask stands from her crate, sliding the electronic cosmetic applicator into her pocket. "Yes, Doctor Balar is in recovery at our hospital. I am Colonel Tenia Demask, commander of this colony," she says, her tone even. "From what I understand, Doctor Balar has yet to achieve consciousness."
Kallistos rolls up her magazine, which seems to be an extremely commercialized scholarly journal, and puts it under her arm as she herself assumes an erect posture and jumps off of the crates.
Ian Sturmvogel nods. "Colonel, I am Ian Sturmvogel... I have brought with me two companions, Mr. Zakar Jin, Federation Diplomatic Services, and S'vol of Starfleet. They are acting as my... companions." However, as all the betazoids in the room know, they are here in case Ian has another vision. "I am here due to an... experience I recently had... that was very much unexplained."
Kallistos looks at Tenia, eyes suddenly wide.
Tenia Demask returns the expression to Kallistos.
Zakar respectfully inclines his head to their hosts, first to Tenia, and then Eve. Beyond that, he remains silent.
Ian Sturmvogel cocks his head and takes a step forward. "Hm. You know of what I speak then." Ian looks into Tenia's eyes... "I know you do."
Kallistos looks at Ian and exhales a prolonged sigh. "We thought the hallucinations were localized to the Hubs. We don't know what it is," she admits.
Tenia Demask purses her lips, "Major..."
Zakar nudges his chair forward and asks, "Others have experienced this ... imagery?"
Ian Sturmvogel turns back to Tenia... "Colonel... it's her. Blonde hair, green eyes. She is telling me it is time to wake up."
S'vol raises a brow in curiosity
Tenia Demask licks her lips in an unpleasant, reptilian sense, slowly taking her eyes off of Eve to look at Ian. "It isn't Adell," she says. "I suppose we'll just have to show you, rather than keep you in the dark."
Ian Sturmvogel looks concerned for a moment, and then follows the women as they go along.
Tenia Demask turns and heads across the bay towards an exit.
You begin following Tenia Demask.
Kallistos follows after Demask, her movements a flutter.
Tenia Demask leaves through the ]O[ Corridor door.
Tenia Demask has left.
You follow Tenia Demask.
Primary Evensong Hub <Deck 2495> [Aethermourne Station]
This is an incomparably wide room, taking up a significant portion of the deck. Thousands of alcoves in the bulkheads are covered by frosted glass, behind which stand the forms of women dimly lit from within. Interlocking, glossy black panels make up the floor, mirroring the soft light from panels in the ceiling. A large, cylindrical computer can be seen on the opposite side of the facility from the door, separated from the room by a pane of transparent aluminum. Large wires snake out of the computer and into the bulkheads there, re-emerging in the hub and branching off into each of the alcoves. In the center of the room floats a bright teal holographic command interface.

"Tenia Demask"
Kallistos arrives from the ]O[ Corridor door.
Kallistos has arrived.
S'vol arrives from the ]O[ Corridor door.
S'vol has arrived.
Zakar arrives from the ]O[ Corridor door.
Zakar has arrived.
Whispers, on the edge of perception, dominate as soon as you enter the room.
Ian Sturmvogel walks in the room and looks around, trying to find the person that is hiding in the room.
Tenia Demask takes in a deep breath, closing her eyes. "It's Hymn," she says.
"Hymn," is repeated, in whisper, before fading back into the incomprehensible.
S'vol looks about trying to pinpoint the source of the whispers
Ian Sturmvogel turns around... "My word... She's alive? But.. I saw it with my own eyes... I was there when..."
Kallistos crosses her arms as though she were cold here. "Like I said, we don't know what it is."
Zakar looks around the room slowly, trying to locate the source of the voice. When he hears Tenia's explanation, he stops his search and looks at the woman.
Tenia Demask opens her eyes. "This isn't the worst of it..."
For the Betazoids in the room, Ian feels a twinge of sadness and guilt... the green eyes, the blonde hair... he immediately thought of Adell. But now another possibility has come to his mind, and he feels hope once more. "I thought she hand't downloaded her memory... I thought... very interesting. Mr. Jin saw a tiger in a vision... I saw a blonde woman with green eyes..." He turns to Tenia... "Not the worst?"
Tenia Demask shakes her head. She takes in a breath, "Prepare yourselves," she says. "This will be quite loud."
Zakar inclines his head to Tenia and takes a deep breath.
S'vol glances t Tenia and nods
Ian Sturmvogel looks puzzled for a moment, turning and looking at S'vol and Zakar. He covers his ears.
Tenia Demask says, "Heresiarch."
The lights in each of the alcoves become blindingly bright as the whispers cease. A mere moment later and the forms within begin banging on the glass, screaming. 'You killed my friend,' 'My friend is dead,' 'You killed her,' repeated, screamed.
'You killed Adell, she was my friend!' 'Adell is dead!' 'You killed her!'
Tenia Demask yells over the screaming, "This is happening in every Evensong Hub we have! Even the one at New Neresia! That one word activates every single Hymn avatar!"
S'vol startles for half a heartbeat and looks about as if just now realizing that the alcoves are occupied.
Zakar cringes from the physical sound and the emotional force of the words. He looks to Ian, and then to Tenia and Kallistos.
Ian Sturmvogel looks left and right at the innumerable screaming, pounding forms. He grits his teeth against the noise, "But she's alive!! You just said she is stable but unconscious!!"
Kallistos also yells in response to Ian, "Hymn doesn't know that! Apparently, Hymn did do a memory upload, just prior to going down to Qvarne! She still thinks Adell is dead and we can't convince her otherwise!"
Kallistos squeezes her eyes shut grabs her head.
Zakar shouts at full voice, "What would convince her?"
Kallistos says, "We've tried everything we can think of! We went so far to tie her main programs into the colonial computers, it just gave everyone a headache!"
Ian Sturmvogel points to the holographic command interface, "Can't we interact with her through that??" Ian yells over the rising din of cacophony. "Isn't there a way to get into her programming somehow intreract with her??"
S'vol looks about "What about bringing her here?
Tenia Demask says, "Adell's condition is extremely volatile! Five of her cervical vertebrae were pulverized! The equipment we use to keep them in traction is not portable!"
S'vol nods in comprehension
The holographic display reads, 'Irrecoverable error.' The lights in the alcoves dim, the screaming ends and the forms cease movement.
Kallistos puts a finger in her ear and wiggles it around, opening and closing her jaw.
"IN MY VISION..." But then the noise stops, Ian speaks lower. "In my vision... Hymn... she called out my name... told me to wake up. Did everyone have the same experience?" Ian turns to Zakar. "Same with you?"
Zakar frowns at the mention of injuries to Adell's vertebrae. Then he suggests, "What about tying Hymn's sensors to Adell's medical unit so that Hymn can 'see' Adell's condition? That should be convincing."
Tenia Demask shakes her head, "She never spoke to me."
Zakar answers, "That was my experience, but I believe that I was sharing yours, Ian."
Kallistos nods, "Nor me," she says. "We tried to focus her on Adell, but she kept moving into other systems. We had to move several of our ships off-base because she went through the umbilical connections into their cores and started activating their warp fields."
Ian Sturmvogel squints his remaining eye. "Their warp fields? To what end... that doesn't fit in.... what else is she connected to right now? Any other systems?"
Kallistos says, "She's completely cut off from systems external to those that belong to the Hub. However, her subspace communication processors are tied directly into the Argus Array on the dorsal surface."
For the Betazoids in the room, Ian has a bad feeling about this. "The Argus Array... the ships being commanded to engage their warp fields... she is searching for something. There's something out there that she sees."
Kallistos nods. "That's what we believe, yes. However when she was forced out of the ship systems, we lost the destination coordinates."
Tenia Demask says, "General Nyx believes that Heresiarch has a Hub as well, within the range of the Argus Array. Unfortunately, however, the Argus Array effectively increases our search from the standard subspace communication limit of around two hundred fifty parsecs to nearly two kiloparsecs. That would be helpful, if we knew what we were looking for."
S'vol raises a brow "How hard is it to force her out of a ship's systems once it reaches warp?
Kallistos says, "She connected to the ship systems through the umbilical connections, she doesn't fully upload a version of herself into the ship cores; they wouldn't be able to accept that much data. So as soon as we disconnected the cables, she lost access. I'm not sure how easily we'd be able to remove her if we used a subspace data stream."
Zakar listens quietly to the description of what has happened, finally turning to S'vol when he asks his question. "Is it possible that she is using the ships as a kind of ... shared network to increase her computational power?"
S'vol nods "You'd have to sever the subspace communications array, I suppose." He thinks a moment "But if you have a crew standing by to do that and another ship ready, you could match the course of the original and get a bearing before severing the link"
Tenia Demask motions to the core in the distance, shaking her head. "In comparison to that, our standard military computational systems are equivalent to an abacus."
Kallistos taps her chin. "Sounds feasible," she says to S'vol.
S'vol says, "Possible, but given the nature of the response earlier to the other's name, I would suppose that she is running more on emotion than logic"
Ian Sturmvogel arches an eyebrow. "Or, we just go with it. Roll the dice. Plug in a ship with cloak, turn on the cloak before she goes to warp, see where she takes us. If there is a Heresiarch hub out there... somewhere... we could then attack it at a later time. Scout it out, and then get the hell out of there without her sensing us. If that is possible."
Kallistos says, "Some of us are against the Hub idea. Heresiarch was conscious for all of a week before Hymn killed her. Before she was put in stasis, Heresiarch was... always under supervision."
The whispers begin again, on the edge of perception.
Kallistos says, "Stasis..."
Ian Sturmvogel looks left and right... "I wonder..." Ian looks at his arm. "Is there any way to induce the visions once more?"
Tenia Demask looks at Eve and catches her breath. "The Aila Chal fiasco?"
Ian Sturmvogel looks to Eve and Tenia. "Aila Chal?"
S'vol raises a brow "Aila Chal?"
Zakar remains silent, but looks at Tenia and Kallistos expectantly.
Kallistos shrugs slightly. "It's possible..." She looks to the others, "Sorry. Just prior to the last Orion war, one of our officers, and one of Starfleet's, Aila Chal, had been gravely injured. She was in stasis aboard the Architect of Victory while Doctor Balar and others were attempting to figure out how to reverse the damage. Unfortunately, the stasis center on the Architect was damaged considerably during the Siege of Gamora. Heresiarch was also in stasis aboard the Architect of Victory as we were still finishing construction of this colony."
Tenia Demask says, "But I thought Heresiarch was kept with the Source, which has been on Qvarne since the Liberation."
Kallistos says, "Actually, no, the Source was aboard the Jericho for quite awhile until we built this place."
Ian Sturmvogel listens to the banter between the two women... "What happened to Aila Chal?"
Kallistos says, "When her stasis was interrupted, she died shortly thereafter. It's possible that Heresiarch's stasis was also compromised, she may have been able to upload a copy of herself during that time."
You begin following Zakar.
Tenia Demask says, "Her stasis chamber was as monitored as Oriole's, if not more. I think we would have noticed."
Kallistos says, "In the middle of a firefight?"
Tenia Demask concedes with a nod.
S'vol nods as he listens "So that sounds like it is possible"
Kallistos says, "I'm still concerned, however, about how Mister Sturmvogel was receiving visions? He came on a Ree from Deep Space Nine. There are no Hubs there."
Tenia Demask nods, "The Hubs are more recent than Colonel Evensong's employment as their chief medical officer."
Zakar begins following you.
Kallistos says, "It would be nice if we simply understood how she's transmitting this in the first place. Even proximity to the Hub shouldn't do this unless we have implants to receive whatever she's doing to us, but we're getting this from school kids."
S'vol says, "You mentioned she was thier CMO? Are you referring to DS9?"
Tenia Demask nods. "Yes, Deep Space Nine's. For quite some time."
S'vol nods "Long enough to have installed something on the station of her own? Without the Bajorans knowledge?"
Tenia Demask says, "It seems unlikely, but yes, nearly a year."
Kallistos says, "Hymn did everything by the book, everything requested, forms, all of that."
Tenia Demask nods, "Which is why I say it seems unlikely."
S'vol shrugs "It would seem logical that if Ian received a vision where he should not have received one, that perhaps you might want to have the location checked to see if there is a.." he pauses a moment deciding on the word "transmitter broadcasting near the location?"
Tenia Demask says, "We are not on the best of terms with the Free Nation, diplomatically, for several reasons. They may be... extremely unpleasant were we to start scouting their territory, even more if we told them why."
S'vol says, "Ian seems to still be technically welcome at the bar. As is Zakar."
S'vol says, "Though diplomatically....perhaps Zakar would be less desirable."
S'vol says quietly "Intriguing. I've never seen anything like this in the fleet or on Vulcan
Zakar nudges his chair to move toward the console. "I'm hardly an expert on these things, but I would expect that a computer capable of spawning itself throughout the Qvarne would have a far different interface from the usual."
S'vol nods "True enough. I've just never met a self-aware computer before. Closest I've come is boarding that Borg Pyramid.
S'vol looks around at the alcoves and shudders
S'vol shakes his head "You know, that's probably the worst thing I've done so far, even counting being at the epicenter of three exploding starships.
Zakar frowns when S'vol mentions the Pyramid. "Have you ... talked to anyone about this before now?"
S'vol shrugs "Not really. I think I mentioned it in a report. Especially the part about having to make sure a drone is completely dead. We learned that the hard way"
S'vol says, "You have to sever the spinal column or they self regenerate and get back up to keep fighting"
Zakar shakes his head grimly. "S'vol, are others there dealing with this kind of ... trauma?"
S'vol looks over "Who knows. We're always at combat alert on Ankara. Seems like not a single hour goes by without a battle"
Zakar takes a deep breath before he speaks again. "Sharia and I have talked about this before. I suspect that I need to talk to her again, more forcefully. This - the mental health of the crew - is a part of Starfleet that needs more attention in a time of war."
