What is Among the Stars TrekMUSH (ATS)?

Among The Stars (ATS) TrekMUSH is a Star Trek based MUSH set approximately three decades past the end of Deep Space Nine. In existence since 1993, the MUSH has a rich history and offers a unique roleplaying environment. ATS has a large, active playerbase, and offers players the option to join many of the different races and factions that make up the Star Trek universe. From starship officers to civilians and diplomats, all kinds of characters are open for play.

The timeline of ATS departs from the known Star Trek universe at the end Deep Space 9's episode, "The Way of the Warrior" (The beginning of the 4th season - approximately 2372). It is now roughly 3 decades later, and while some things have changed, many have remained the same. With well over a decade of RL play (ICly several decades), a lot of player based history has been made.

With over a decade of development, ATS offers a wide variety of coded systems to help with the playing experience. The MUSH uses a feature rich space model, developed internally and known publicly as Aspace, with many different ship types and systems. An extensive economy system is in place, encouraging galactic travel and trade. In addition, ATS features coded skill, language, combat, and other systems to assist and enhance roleplay.

ATS has a friendly player base, and new players are always welcome. If you want to know more, take a look at the web page or log on as a guest to look around and ask questions.

ATS history diverges from the media canon at the DS9 episode, Way of the Warrior. All media produced after that point in RL, regardless of the setting within the Trek timeline, is not considered canon for ATS, though specific elements may be incorporated into the ATS milieu at the option of staff.
